Dolores Catania Gained 20 Pounds After She Stopped Using Ozempic

While appearing on "Jeff Lewis Live," Catania, 54, told the host and former Bravo personality that she has been struggling lately with her weight gain.

"I'm having a really hard time right now," the mother of two said. "My Mounjaro (also known as Ozempic) stopped working; I gained 20 pounds."

Catania, who became a full-time cast member during the seventh season of "RHONJ," continued, “I’ve been looking for therapy for all my friends. I’m really having a bad time with this.”

Elsewhere, during the conversation, Catania told Lewis that she couldn't try any other weight loss medications because she's "done it all."

"I stopped taking it for, like, a month," she said, adding that another reason she had to stop the drug was her need to undergo a "cardiac ablation"—a treatment for people with irregular heartbeats.

Dolores Catania Admitted To Hopping On The Ozempic 'Bandwagon' In 2023

Catania's candid comments about her weight aren't the first time the reality star has spoken publicly about her body. During a previous episode of Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live," the Jersey native told Cohen that she hopped on the Ozempic "bandwagon" to avoid looking "bigger" than her castmates during a "RHONJ" reunion.

Regarding the drug's side effects, Catania claimed her experience was minimal, noting that her only one was hunger.

In another interview, the Bravo veteran shared her excitement about losing "20 pounds" with the help of Ozempic, adding that she hoped to reach a weight in the low 130s.

"I'm being realistic," she continued. "Right now I'm 137. I was 157 when I started."

And Catania isn't the only one in her circle who has achieved weight-loss goals while using these types of medications. Previously, in February 2025, she opened up about her boyfriend, Paul Connell, going through his own body transformation after losing "60 pounds."

“He no longer takes a certain blood pressure medication and it’s been really positive,” she said before adding that she was considering switching to a "lower dose" after being on the weight loss drug for years.

"I know it’s time for me to wean myself off or go on a lower dose but doctors have said there’s not really anything wrong with staying on it. You must always go through a real doctor though who knows what they are doing. Research is everything," she said.

Although Catania and her boyfriend, Connell, have had a positive experience with these medications, that's not the case for everyone, notably comedian Amy Schumer.

According to an earlier report from The Blast, the actress previously revealed that while using Ozempic, she got so sick she could barely get out of bed.

"I have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy," she recalled on a radio show, adding that she had a "horrible experience" when she started using Ozempic.

"So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was like ... vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it, and they're all good. God bless them," she added.

Schumer also noted that although she lost "30 pounds so [quickly]," she couldn't "lift [her] head off the pillow," stating the nausea made it difficult for her to move.

In another appearance, Schumer blasted celebrities who were "hiding" their use of Ozempic and urged them to be honest with the public about the methods they're using to reach their fitness goals.

"You are on Ozempic or one of those things, or you got work done," Schumer said, per The Blast. "Just stop [hiding their use of the Type II diabetes drug.] Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo."
