Kody Brown isn't backing down from his past stance about Robyn Brown being the woman closest to his heart.
The "Sister Wives" patriarch, who once labeled his only remaining wife his soulmate, recently expressed frustration over the adverse reactions to their relationship. He doubled down on his love for Robyn being stronger than the hate and refused to be punished for choosing her over his ex-wives.
Kody Brown's recent comments follow years-long criticism for his apparent favoritism for Robyn Brown during his plural marriage to Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown. Although the trio has ended their ties to the patriarch, it hasn't stopped many from bashing him for treating them poorly.
Kody Brown Declares His Love For Robyn Brown Amid The Scrutiny Of Their Relationship

A May 25 episode of the TLC series captured Kody defending his relationship with Robyn. He declared that his ex-wives needed to get over their differences with his only remaining wife and stop attacking them for being in love.
"There's a divine aspect about my relationship with Robyn. We have been b-tchslapped for it, and I'm sick of it," Kody stressed before adding:
"I love this woman, and I want peace in this relationship, but I'm to the point where I'm walking around flipping two birds 'cause I am so sick and tired of being guilted for loving Robyn."
Despite his arguments, Kody's love for Robyn prevented him from seeing the harm his favoritism had on his other wives. In E! News' exclusive look at the third segment of the reality TV show's one-on-one special, Meri addressed her falling out with Robyn and how the Brown family's patriarch played a role in it.
Meri Brown Blames Broken Sisterhood On Her Ex-Husband's Favoritism

When the one-on-one special host, Sukanya Krishnan, told Meri that Robyn believed she did not put in significant effort in reconciling their relationship, the entertainer called out her former sister-in-law and ex-husband as the reasons behind their fallout.
According to Meri, Kody's favoritism for Robyn over her and the other wives ultimately led to the end of their sisterhood. She argued that because her ex-husband favored one wife more than the others, she took it upon herself to be the peacemaker and prioritized others throughout her marriage.
Meri stressed that she always took the blame but refused to accept Robyn's hurt feelings as her fault. "You are having this pain about me leaving, that's a you thing. That's yours to carry. That's not mine," she declared.
Although she noted there was no bad blood on her end, Meri claimed she did not have the same kingship she once felt with Robyn.
Kody Hoped To Escape The Family's Drama By Relocating With Robyn

Kody's love for Robyn has been evident throughout the show's latest season, with the patriarch contemplating leaving everything behind for a fresh start with his only remaining wife. The Blast covered his plans earlier this year, reporting that Kody hoped to escape the drama by moving to Europe.
"I got an itch to move so bad, just to get away from the energy of it all…I got to get out of here because this isn't going to work for me because all the memory, all the energy of it, I just don't know," Kody lamented, hinting at his broken relationship with ex-wives Christine, Janelle, and Meri.
Fortunately, Kody's desire to start anew with Robyn didn't blind him to the consequences a relocation could have on his kids. Despite his strong desire to move to Europe, the father of 18 noted that he had multiple children in college and graduate school and could not pack up and leave without considering their needs.
The Brown Family's Patriarch Has A Few Regrets About His Divorces

Kody's plural marriage started falling apart in November 2021 when Christine became the first of four wives to leave. She has since bounced back with a second marriage to David Woolley.
Janelle followed suit a year later by separating from Kody in December 2022, months before Meri called it quits in January 2023.
The patriarch reflected on the end of his relationships on an episode of his reality TV show, admitting he was in a difficult place with his ex. He expressed regret over how things ended with three of them, especially Janelle, whom he noted had taken a different path in life.
"There's even the regret of the divorce, Meri, Janelle, and Christine, those divorces, and being angry during those divorces. Sure, I regret that stuff," Kody confessed.
Despite his remorse over the past, the TV personality seemed more interested in growing his relationship with Robyn than reconciling with his ex-wives.
Kody Brown Doesn't Want Men Chasing After His Only Remaining Wife

Last December, The Blast reported that Kody was not taking any chances with men approaching Robyn. He expressed a strong desire to protect his wife from interested parties after she asked for permission to attend church with their daughters.
The TV personality noted he was okay with Robyn and their girls going to church without him as long as he could join them later. He claimed he couldn't leave Robyn alone for too long to avoid a scenario where men think she's a single mother.
"There's a lot of men interested in Robyn, and they were sort of trying to get around me and to her," Kody claimed in the episode's confessional. He added that he didn't want any man looking at his wife, joking about protecting her like a lion protects his pride.
