Bethenny Frankel sparked concern and controversy on Thursday after sharing a video clip of her friend, Sarah Lacharlotte, engaging in what many fans called "dangerous and distracting" driving behavior.
In the clip, which was filmed as the pair cruised through Florida in a luxury car featuring a sleek red leather interior, Sarah can be seen holding a phone to her ear while driving.
The casual car ride quickly took a turn when Bethenny Frankel began narrating the moment with a mix of sarcasm and concern.

"I just get in the car and my friend is on the phone with, presumably, one of her children," Bethenny said. "And this is the sentence that comes out of her mouth: 'No, baby. It's flying termites. It's okay, there's no reason to be alarmed.'"
But what really set off alarm bells was Sarah's own admission. "I'm going to have an accident right now because I'm texting… I'm not texting, I'm talking [on the phone] without my seatbelt on," she confessed.
Frankel immediately called her out in real time, warning, "My friends are going to cancel you."
And it didn't take long for her prediction to come true.
Frankel's Friend Slammed Over Distracted Driving

The comment section quickly flooded with criticism from fans who were shocked by the lack of basic safety precautions.
"She looks distracted driving while holding her phone," one user noted.
Another wrote, "My bigger concern is why the hell is she holding her phone while driving. It's called Bluetooth. Be safe!"
Others were equally frustrated, with comments like, "Driving with a cellphone is a no-no in my state… also no seatbelt. Please don't drive distracted," and, "I would worry more about her driving with her phone. Pretty sure her car has Bluetooth."
"She should have the phone program through the car so the hands are free to drive," someone else said.
In Florida, it is legal to talk on the phone while driving, but manually entering or reading texts is prohibited. Drivers are also banned from using handheld devices in school and construction zones.
Bethenny Frankel Left Speechless Over Friend's Flying Termite Situation

Elsewhere in the video, Frankel expressed disbelief as her friend casually referred to a swarm of "flying termites."
Known as swarmers, these winged termites are a common sight in Florida during their active season, which typically spans from late winter through summer. They emerge in large numbers to mate and form new colonies, and their sudden appearance is often a warning sign of a potential infestation.
While her friend calmly reassured her son over the phone, telling him not to worry, Frankel looked visibly horrified, struggling to process what she was hearing. The clip ends with a moment of comedic chaos as her friend's son attempts to vacuum up the bugs, only to find the swarm seemingly unfazed by his efforts.
Frankel's Catwalk Comeback

Earlier this week, Bethenny Frankel made waves. Not for her sharp tongue or business savvy, but for her confident strut down the runway at Swim Week 2025.
While SISwimsuit models like Olivia Dunne delivered jaw-dropping splits and Jordan Chiles flipped into viral fame, it was Frankel who turned heads in her own fierce way.
Dancing effortlessly to the beat, the Real Housewives of New York City alum brought her signature energy to the catwalk, rocking pieces from the SI Swimsuit x Oh Polly collection, including the bold Cross-Back Swimsuit in Zebra Print.
"If the internet says I'm a supermodel, who am I to argue?" she cheekily captioned the video of her walk, fully embracing her newfound runway queen status.
Bethenny Frankel Claps Back At Critics After SI Runway Debut

But the moment wasn't without its emotional backstory. Frankel revealed that before stepping onto the stage, she'd faced criticism from those who told her she wasn't "right for SI." Still, she used that doubt as fuel.
"They said: 'Everyone's seen you in a bathing suit; you're not right for SI,'" Frankel shared with Page Six. "I say that because all the women backstage have been told no at some point in their lives, but they said yes to themselves. If your heart says yes, go for it. Don't let anyone else decide what you can or can't do."
From battling termites in Florida to conquering the catwalk, Bethenny Frankel is proving she can handle anything, with style, sass, and a whole lot of confidence.
