Jessie J is opening up about a private health battle that has been plaguing her. The British artist took to social media to share the news of a cancer diagnosis.

The heartbreaking announcement comes two years after the "Price Tag" singer welcomed her first child, son Sky, with her partner, Chanan Colman.

Jessie J, who is returning to the music scene after a four-year hiatus, informed fans of her plans to leave the public eye while she undergoes surgery.

In an emotional Instagram video, Jessie announced to her fans that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. "I've been going back and forth a little bit on should I share it?" the singer candidly confessed.

The 37-year-old admitted she was concerned about the "opinions" of others and was particularly worried that the media would "make this way bigger." However, pushing past her fears, she decided to speak up because she loves sharing her life with her fans.

The United Kingdom native revealed that she got the news of the diagnosis in April 2025, shortly before the release of her comeback hit single, "No Secrets."

"I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I’m highlighting the word 'early.' Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding onto the word early," Jessie said in the clip. "I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period."

The 'Flashlight' Singer Isn't Processing Her Health Battle

She explained her decision to let the world in on her secret battle, admitting that she "selfishly" hadn't spoken about it enough. "I'm not processing it 'cause I’m working so hard," the mother-of-one confessed.

However, Jessie understands the power of sharing her truth and how it has led to her receiving love and support when she needed it the most. She also believes her cancer story will help others speak about theirs.

"It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That's the bit that kills me," she shared.

Calling herself an "open book," the singer fought back tears as she declared that her cancer diagnosis wasn't something she "planned." She reflected on the journey so far and how it coincided with her music comeback, saying:

"To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called No Secrets, right before a song called Living My Best Life, which was all pre-planned, before I found out about this. I mean, you can't make it up."

Jessie J Shares Plans For Treatment And Recovery

Nevertheless, Jessie is soldiering on and focusing on defeating breast cancer. She informed fans of her plans to undergo surgery. "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job," she joked.

Using humor to discuss the sensitive topic, "The Voice UK" judge called her surgery a "weird topic." She concluded the heart-melting video, confirming that she would retreat from the spotlight in the meantime.

"I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t-ts and more music, she said.

In the post's accompanying caption, the London native poked fun at her recent song titles, writing, "No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called 'Living my breast life'?"

Putting the jokes aside, she acknowledged that while her diagnosis gave her "the most incredible perspective," she "needs a hug."

Although the songstress might not be able to receive hugs from her fans worldwide, many surrounded her with love and encouragement in the comments section.

Jessie J's heartbreaking health news comes less than a month after her performance at the BAFTA TV Awards 2025 made headlines.

It marked her first performance on stage in six years, and fans were thrilled to see the singer perform "The Award Goes To."

Although the powerful rendition received praises online, the singer didn't think it was her best performance. She admitted in a statement shared on social media that acid reflux affected her vocals.

"My acid reflux about 2 hours before my performance on the BAFTAs tonight said, 'HELLO JESS,'" she wrote, per the Daily Mail. "People who know how that is (or singers), I'm sure, could see me struggling, but I threw the mic stand and pushed through."
