Thanks to a longstanding vision and desire to give back, Fator is collaborating with the Las Vegas Philharmonic for the first time for a one-night-only special show.

“It’s something that I’ve had a vision of for maybe 20 years. Back when I, before ‘America’s Got Talent,’ I saw Collective Soul. I was a big fan of that band back 20 years ago and I still am. But I saw on television that they had done a show with a symphony, and it was so amazing. Then I started seeing other things like Led Zeppelin and other doing shows with a symphony,” Fator told The Blast exclusively. “And so I said, one day, I’d really like to do a show with a symphony behind me.”

Then “America’s Got Talent” happened and he was instantly “thrust into international stardom.” It wasn’t long after winning the show that he became a Vegas headliner.

“I got so busy with all that that I sort of put it on the backburner. About three years ago, I told my agent, I’m really serious about this. I decided that I wanted to, I love to support the arts, so I decided that I was gonna do a show that benefits the Las Vegas Philharmonic and The Smith Center,” he explained. "I’m donating my fee to The Smith Center and the Las Vegas Philharmonic.”

If you’ve ever seen Fator’s Vegas show in person, you might be wondering exactly how this special one-night show will be.

“Obviously, I’m known for being able to do impressions of singers with puppets so there will be some of that. But it really is to focus on, a lot of people don’t realize I can sing. I was the lead singer of a band for 15 years that traveled all over the country and Canada, and so a lot of people just don’t realize it,” he shared. “The name of the show is ‘In My Own Voice’ and I’ll be doing a lot of stuff in my own voice.”

He added that he will also be doing some impressions with puppets. People who aren’t familiar with his talents will get to see them all in one night, because he wants to be sure that everyone gets to experience what he’s known for.

“It’s a very heartfelt show. I wrote this show. I wrote all of the stuff and the songs I’m going to be doing from my own personal experience. And they’re really songs that kind of tell in a way, my life story and the things that I’ve learned and the ways that I’ve grown in my life and in my career. It’s going to be a little bit of an autobiographical through classic music and music that’s standards that everybody knows, with some humor and some puppets thrown in.”

Fator told The Blast that he will be integrating some of his puppet friends into the show in strategic ways and things may even get a bit interactive with the audience.

Terry Fator's Las Vegas Show Just Celebrated One Year At The STRAT

Just a few weeks ago, Fator celebrated the one-year anniversary of "Terry Fator: One Man, a Hundred Voices, a Thousand Laughs!"

Fator said that in the past year, the show has evolved a bit, and he's really happy about where it's at.

"Opening night, there were a lot of bugs to work out and some things that didn't quite flow right and we just wanted to kind of get it tightened and say well this didn't really work like we thought it was going to. So that's really what it is. It's more of an evolution that has been a perfection evolution," Fator told The Blast. "It's my first time that I've had a regular show that's 65 minutes. I'm used to doing 90-minute shows and I want to get as much bang for the buck as I possibly can."

Fator said he feels the show is now "streamlined and perfected" since that first show and said even if you saw the show in the past year, seeing it again might mean noticing some differences.

"If you come and see me now, there will be some different things," he shared. "And the thing is, the show is so packed with things that I've had people come and see it three times and say, 'I notice new things every single time.' So it moves at such a quick pace."

Terry Fator Is A Man Of Many Voices

Fator is known for his many voices, so when asked if he has any favorites, he said three instantly came to mind.

"Hands down, Kermit the Frog is my favorite part of the show and that's something if you saw me a year ago, it's really evolved and it's so much better now than it was a year ago. I made a few minor little changes that just kind of take it to another level," he told The Blast. "I think also doing 'Bohemian Rhapsody.' I think I'm the only person on the planet that can sing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with my mouth closed. And then, of course, 'We are the World.'"

Fator said during his meet-and-greets, people always tell him their favorites are the same three as his.

"If you're a Queen fan, you're going to absolutely love watching 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with puppets. It's really something. And trust me, I'm really singing," he said. "I have a puppet of Freddie Mercury."

Reminiscing About His Time On 'America's Got Talent'

This year marks 20 years of "America's Got Talent," where Fator got his big break after winning his season. When asked what he remembers best about his time on the show, he said it was the "joy" he felt.

"I remember the joy I felt. It was, up to that point, the most work I'd ever done and I'm a hard worker. I've worked way harder since I won 'America's Got Talent' but you know, I spent almost every single moment honing and perfecting and getting prepared and ready for the show, and for each performance, so I was just laser focused," he said about his time on the show.

"It was interesting because a lot of the other contestants had their families in and they'd go to the beach and they'd go, 'Hey, Terry, you want to come to the beach?' And I'm like, 'No thanks. I'm working.'"

Fator said that all his "professional dreams" came true thanks to the show, despite the shooting schedule being "brutal" and not getting much sleep.

"I never felt anything but just excitement and happiness and joy the entire time because I'm thinking, oh my gosh, this is is. This is it," he said. "I never dreamed it would lead to what it led to."

For anyone hoping to follow in his footsteps, his advice is to never stop working and never give up.

"My main advice is just don't stop working, I mean, always, every day spend some time working and also don't give up," he shared. "I just talked to somebody who is incredibly talented, and he said he tried out and did not get on 'America's Got Talent' and I said try out again. Don't stop if you get turned down. Don't let that be the end. Just keep going because you know, it might take you six or eight times but if you get on there, it'll change your life."
