Comedian and television host Bill Maher recently weighed in on Sean 'Diddy' Combs, his alleged "freak offs," and the rapper's ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura's, involvement in the sexual encounters.
On his show, Maher stated that witness testimony in Diddy's federal trial confirmed for him that the rap mogul is a "bad dude;" however, he also directed controversial comments at Cassie, who testified Diddy pressured her into sex with male escorts.
Maher Blasts Diddy As A 'Bad Dude' Before Sharing Critical Comments About Cassie
On his show, "Real Time with Bill Maher," Maher slammed Diddy, who has faced intense public scrutiny since the start of his federal trial, where he faces up to life in prison on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
“We need to keep two thoughts in our head at once,” Maher said. “One, Diddy is a bad dude — really bad. Like the worst thing in rap since Hammer Pants. A violent, sick f-ck. I’m sorry, I mean an alleged violent sick f-ck."
“And we should lock him up and throw away the baby oil,” he continued. “And two, things have changed enough. So moving forward, the rule should be, if you’re being abused, you gotta leave right away.”
Maher Appears To Blame Cassie For Not Leaving Abusive Situation Sooner

Maher continued, stating he could understand why some victims might initially be unable to leave their abusers. However, the comedian emphasized his belief that victims should seek help as soon as possible.
“Tell the police right away — don’t wait a decade. Don’t journal about it. Don’t turn it into a one-woman show. And most importantly, don’t keep f-ckin him,” he said.
Maher's controversial comments didn't end there, though. “If you want a number-one album on the charts so bad, you’ll take a number-one to the face, and some of that’s on you,” he added.
Cassie Says Diddy's Alleged 'Freak Offs' Left Her Feeling 'Humiliated'

Maher's comments come weeks after Cassie, who filed a shocking lawsuit against Diddy in 2023, testified on the stand that the "Hello Good Morning" rapper pressured her into having sex with other men.
According to the "Me & U" singer, participating in Diddy's alleged "freak offs" became all-consuming, leaving her "no space to do anything else."
"Staying out for days on end, taking drugs and drinking, having sex with a stranger," she testified in court. "They would be 36, 48, 72 hours, the longest one was four days."
Following the "freak offs," Cassie told the court she often felt "disgusting" and "humiliated."
"I didn't have the words to show how horrible I felt. I couldn't talk to anyone about it," she continued. "I was high so I didn't feel much. 'Did this really happen to me?' I didn’t know what was going to happen after that, if we were going to do it more frequently, I said yes to more, I didn't want to make him upset or angry."
Cassie's Husband Shares An Uplifting Message For His Wife After She Finished Testifying In Diddy's Trial

Following Cassie's moving testimony at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in Manhattan, her husband, Alex Fine, released a statement through a legal representative, praising Cassie for her bravery during the emotional process.
“Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing herself of her past," Fine said. "There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony. I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass."
The personal trainer explained that hearing Cassie's testimony evoked a range of emotions in him, including anger, before he addressed Diddy directly in his statement.
"So, to him and all of those who helped him along the way, please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room," he said. "You did not break the soul of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man."
Cassie Also Releases A Statement

Cassie, 38, also released a statement through her lawyer, describing her time on the stand as "extremely challenging" but also "remarkably empowering and healing."
"I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear. For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget," she finished.
