Sydney Sweeney Seemingly Scrubs The Haters After Spotted For First Time Since Controversial Collab

Sydney Sweeney is taking the internet’s obsession with her bathwater to a whole new level, and having a little fun with her critics along the way.
The "Euphoria" and "Anyone But You" star surprised fans this week by launching an unexpected (and undeniably cheeky) brand partnership with Dr. Squatch. A limited-edition soap bar called Bathwater Bliss, made using her actual bathwater.
Unveiled on Thursday on Sydney Sweeney's social media, the collaboration drew immediate reactions, not all of them glowing.

While some fans were amused, others called the product “weird,” “gross,” and “a step too far.”
Comments on her Instagram lit up with responses ranging from “Sydney honey, I love you, but I don’t know about this,” to “Every day we stray further from God.” Still, the 26-year-old actress appears to be taking the chatter in stride.
Just one day after the backlash, Sweeney was spotted on set for a HEYDUDE Shoes campaign, wearing none other than a fluffy white bathrobe. The playful look seemed to be a not-so-subtle clapback to critics, proving once again that she’s in on the joke.

According to Dr. Squatch, Bathwater Bliss contains real droplets of bathwater collected from Sweeney during the shoot. “When we were at the [Dr. Squatch] shoot, they had a tub for me,” she told GQ. “I actually got in there and I took some soap, and we had a nice little bath and they took the water.”
The soap, a nod to her Pacific Northwest roots, is infused with earthy notes of pine, moss, and fir, what she calls a “super manly” scent, balanced with her signature touch. “It smells super outdoorsy… but then there’s some city bathwater mixed in,” she added.
While some fans were left scratching their heads, others admired Sweeney’s self-aware approach. “You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad… so we kept it,” she wrote in the caption of her announcement post. “Introducing Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater.”
Sydney Sweeney’s 'Dirty Little Boys' Ad Sparked The Bathwater Craze

Her latest Dr. Squatch stunt comes months after her viral debut as the brand’s sultry Body Wash Genie in October 2024, which was a 30-second ad that set the bathwater buzz in motion.
“Hello, you dirty little boys, are you interested in my body… wash?” she teased in the ad, before making it clear the product was “for men,” not boys.
Promoting the brand’s Natural Body Wash line, Sweeney playfully recited the long-lasting scents like “wood barrel bourbon, pine tar, coconut castaway, and fresh falls,” before cheekily concluding, “Quit being a dirty little boy!”

The "Euphoria" actress recently found herself the target of cruel online comments after paparazzi photos surfaced showing her sunbathing in a purple bikini at a private home in the Florida Keys. While Sweeney looked relaxed and confident, the article's comment section quickly filled with faceless users criticizing everything from her body to her face.
Rather than ignoring the negativity, Sweeney took matters into her own hands by posting a powerful video to social media, and no caption was necessary. The clip began with a series of screenshots showing the harsh comments, including usernames of the individuals behind them. Then, in a striking twist, the video cut to footage of the intense boxing training Sweeney has been undergoing for her upcoming role as champion fighter Christy Martin.
In the montage, Sweeney displayed the muscle, discipline, and grit she’s been building for months, making it clear she’s focused on performance and power, not pleasing critics.

Sweeney first revealed her role in the Christy Martin biopic back in October, sharing behind-the-scenes images and transformation shots, including brown curly hair and boxing gloves.
“Over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman, a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring,” she wrote at the time.
Since rising to fame as Cassie Howard in HBO’s "Euphoria," Sweeney has remained one of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars. In addition to the Christy Martin project, she’s also set to appear alongside Amanda Seyfried in the film adaptation of the bestselling thriller "The Housemaid."
Whether it's genius marketing or internet chaos, it is clear that Sydney Sweeney knows how to keep people talking.
