Savannah Chrisley Grants First Interview After Todd & Julie Chrisley's Prison Release

Savannah Chrisley is still soaking in everything about her parents’ unexpected release from prison.

The reality star has finally welcomed her incarcerated parent's home over two years after they were sentenced one year shy of two decades in their tax and bank fraud case.

Savannah Chrisley has spent a significant portion of this year advocating for a pardon for her parents, and her pleas intensified as soon as President Donald Trump was sworn in; the president eventually granted her wish.

Savannah Chrisley Says Parents Will Open Up With Time

The 27-year-old caught up with the press the day after she and her brother picked their folks up from their respective holding facilities in Florida and Kentucky. According to Savannah, the entire situation still very much feels like a miracle.

"Oh my gosh, it has been amazing. It's still just kind of ... it doesn't feel real. We were going to bed last night. We're like, 'Is this real?' And then, I wake up this morning and my mom's walking into my bedroom and I'm like, it's absolutely insane!” the “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast host shared.

Savannah further expresses gratitude as her family begins to transition back to a semblance of normalcy after their very challenging two-year-plus period. She acknowledges that the current situation is overwhelming for them, especially after her parents’ two-and-a-half-year imprisonment. 

While they are adjusting and still in shock, Savannah reassures PEOPLE that the entire family is doing well and spending quality time together. Savannah also believes her parents will eventually open up about their feelings when they are ready, as they have always been good at articulating their emotions.

The Influencer’s Interest In Prison Reform Was Reignited

In 2023, Savannah made lemonade from her lemons following her parents’ convictions. She shifted her focus to prison reform to help not just Todd and Julie but others in the prison system. At the time, she explained:

"I'm not just going to be working with CPAC [Conservative Political Action Conference]. I'm going to be working with so many other organizations. There's another organization that I'm in talks with now, just about having a larger role within their organization, and I'm super excited about that."

She noted that seeing her parents plant the seed of prison reform by helping people get out of prison over the years ignited the flame. However, she became increasingly aware of the flaws in the system and found her voice.

"I started to foster relationships with these men and women that are in prison, I just knew that I had to do something about it. So thanks to my parents and their story, it's opened my eyes to something so much greater. And right now, it's just when the fight begins," Savannah concluded.

Savannah's First Full Look Of Her Dad Was A Clap Back At The Paparazzi

Savannah did not hesitate to update fans on her reunion with Todd as soon as the buzzer went off for his release. The father-daughter duo could not stop smiling as they posed for a quick Instagram selfie.

Todd looked dapper in a gray t-shirt and black shorts combo. He paired his youthful ensemble with matching black aviator shades and a black baseball hat.

Savannah rocked a MAGA hat over an all-black ensemble paired with a crossbody Louis Vuitton designer bag. She left a cheeky caption for the paparazzi underneath the photo. She tagged her dad's Instagram handle, writing:

"To The paparazzi following us looking to pay your bills…. here's your photo."

She had earlier shared a video showing how the father-daughter duo escaped from the facility and made their way into the garage. "WE ARE BACK," Savannah captioned the video.

The entrepreneur's post received over 350k likes and nearly 15k comments, with tens of thousands of shares from her fans and followers.

The 27-Year-Old Thanked President Donald Trump For His Kind Gesture

As she pulled all the stops to ensure her father was conveyed to the comfort of his home from the FPC Pensacola, Savannah did not hesitate to give honor to whom it was due.

As shared by The Blast, the 27-year-old looked radiant in a hot-pink MAGA hat as she spoke kind words about President Trump. She described him as a "human with a heart."

Aside from Trump, who made Savannah's dreams come true, she also thanked Trump's "Pardon Czar" Alice Marie Johnson and Ed Martin, who was the interim U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., for a short time.

As a testament to his friendship with the Chrisleys, the president reportedly called Savannah to personally break the news of her parents' pardon to her.

Savannah Chrisley Is Still Estranged From One Family Member

While the 27-year-old can now enjoy the blissful presence of her parents at home, her ties with another member of the Chrisley clan are hanging by a thread. Savannah opened up about the ongoing tensions between her and her oldest sister, Lindsie Chrisley. 

Their public feud, which began in 2023, has resulted in a series of media exchanges. In a recent episode of her "Southern Tea" podcast, Lindsie took a jab at Savannah and expressed gratitude for her chosen family, emphasizing that meaningful relationships often transcend blood ties. She stated:

"You don't necessarily prioritize the people that God gave you, but you prioritize the relationships that add value to your life."

Savannah returned the favor by echoing the same sentiment in her conversation with her grandmother on her podcast. The influencer shared that just because someone is family does not mean they deserve a place in one's life if they act negatively.

The reality star's grandmother also shared her hope that one day, the sisters might reconcile and find their way back to each other despite their current estrangement.
