The actress, who announced her exit from Hollywood last June, got vulnerable with fans about her mysterious condition and why she suspected it had a deeper meaning than what science could explain.

Evangeline Lilly revealed that she has been living with an unknown condition since childhood in a thought-provoking piece that prompted fans to reconsider their perspectives on life. Despite her positive reaction to her health scare, the bloody aftermath left many worried.

The "Ant-Man and the Wasp" actress updated her Instagram page with two pictures detailing the aftermath of her beach accident. The first was a close-up of Lilly's red and bruised face, with a bloodied injury right underneath her nose.

There were also red marks on her nose, lower lip, and chin, visible signs of the entertainer's shocking accident. She shared part of what happened in the post's caption, writing, "I fainted at the beach. And fell face first into a boulder." Before directing fans to the full story on Substack, she added in the caption:

"At the hospital, the nurses and doctor went straight into action, more determined to find the cause of my blackout than to stitch up the hole punctured into my face by the rock. I smiled wryly at them. 'You won't find anything,' I said with a woozy voice…"

Although Lilly hoped her Instagram followers would read the full explanation of her story to understand what happened, many rushed to the comments before doing so. These fans were beside themselves with worry, penning their love and support for the media personality.

"Oh my goodness Evangeline! I am sending you all of the healing energy in the world. Take it easy! We're all here for you!" someone declared. Another supporter echoed similar sentiments, writing, "Take care of yourself, Evangeline. I wish you a speedy recovery."

More IG users penned their well wishes, with a fan labeling Lilly's injuries "gnarly" while hoping for her swift recovery. Others prayed doctors would find the cause of her fainting spells, while a few kept wondering what happened.

The answer to the burning question on everyone's minds was not a medical condition, per Lilly's claims.

In her first-ever Substack article, Lilly got vulnerable with fans about her persistent fainting episodes. She continued the story from her Instagram post, noting doctors carried out several tests but could not find any problems with her body.

None of their examinations could determine the cause of her accident at the beach, with Lilly stating she wasn't surprised by the results.

She noted her fainting spells started at a young age, with doctors once testing her for epilepsy before believing she had hypoglycemia without a proper test, per Lilly's recollection.

The former actress accepted the diagnosis, telling people she had hypoglycemia whenever she fainted. However, this theory was debunked as she grew older, as her glucose levels never dropped as low, even after a 12-hour fast. Eventually, Lilly believed this "checking out" stemmed from her soul reaching its limits.

Lilly explained that her fainting spells were a result of her body going past its limits, leading to her soul searching for some peace. She used this same logic to analyze her beach accident, noting the past few months had been "incredibly demanding."

"We can not have it all. This is my firm belief from empirical evidence over forty-five years of living. We simply can't. My blackout and resulting injuries forced me to drop everything. I was forced into stillness," the media personality mused, adding:

"From there, deep joy, peace, and clarity arose that started in the liminal space I left to when I blacked out. It began there and has continued on for days since. It might seem crazy looking at my face and my busted tooth, but I feel so grateful that I blacked out. I needed the reset."

Five years before her beach accident, Lilly got candid about the deepest part of herself she kept hidden behind the cameras. She shared two pictures her young son took, capturing her seated on the floor and looking overwhelmed with tears.

Lilly explained that she wasn't the type to share emotional posts because she wished to "add sunshine" to people's lives and not sadden them with her struggles. However, addressing the needs of others and being a beloved actress to many wasn't easy on her mental health.

"Last year, I broke. Suddenly I was forced to face my weakness and my limitations, my trauma andfears. I was left with no choice but to accept that I am limited or...carry on down a road of perfectionist denial that would inevitably kill me," Lilly confessed.

She added that she was finally coming out of her shell and learning to stop hiding her darkness.
