Smokey Robinson is standing on his claims that his accusers are on a witch hunt!
The producer has now turned the pages on his ex-housekeepers, insisting their lawsuit is nothing but a malicious plot to bring him down despite treating them like family.
Smokey Robinson was dragged to court by four unidentified former employees who accused him of multiple sexual assaults, with some dating as far as a decade ago.
Smokey Robinson Claims He Shared Close, Familial Ties With The Ex-Housekeepers

The music producer revealed that he, alongside his wife, Frances Robinson, always treated their employees like extended family, including the plaintiffs. They have now filed a rebuttal to the initial lawsuit, also demanding $500 million from their accusers.
As proof of the producer and his wife's close ties to these women, his legal team cited several instances of gifts they have presented the ex-housekeepers over the years. They included concert tickets, payment for dental jobs, and many others.
Smokey's legal team followed up with various exhibits that allegedly showcase his close relationships with the ex-employees, including an invitation to an ex-employee's son's graduation dinner.
Another piece of evidence features a heartfelt message purportedly sent by a plaintiff to Smokey on his birthday. It was accompanied by another photo that captured Frances vacationing in Cabo with one of the accusers, celebrating Smokey's birthday.
According to TMZ, the producer's lawyers explained that the vacation was funded by Smokey and Frances, further proof of their closeness and kindness to their staff.
The Producer Wants His Unidentified Accusers To Reveal Themselves

The Robinsons, through their attorney, insist that the women involved had ample opportunity to exploit their situation, accusing them of knowing where their valuables were hidden.
The couple initiated a lawsuit against the women for defamation, financial elder abuse, emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and civil conspiracy, among other charges.
Smokey has made one more demand, but in a separate legal motion. The producer is requesting the public identification of his accusers. He argues that their legal representatives have turned the case into a media spectacle, thus undermining their claims for anonymity.
The Soul Singer's Accusers Claimed His Wife Was Aware Of His Misdeeds

As noted by The Blast, Frances was not spared from the lawsuit as one of the accusers claimed she had ample idea of her husband's crimes and fully enabled him.
The accuser cited instances where Frances would leave the house for hours to get her nails done. However, there was reportedly a bigger motive behind her absence, which was to give Smokey time and space to carry out his several assaults.
Frances also reportedly intervened in cases involving other women who were survivors of sexual assault, but she left her husband's stone unturned. The producer's wife also allegedly created an unpleasant work environment for employees due to her use of abusive language and raised voices.
Inside The Alleged Abuse By The Producer

The R&B’s alleged can of worms came with very vivid accounts of a series of assaults from the plaintiffs. One accuser recounted her ordeal on several occasions with the producer, with one instance as recent as February 2024.
She shared that Smokey often called her to his bedroom and would ensure his dog, Shiio, was out of the room before he began to force himself on her.
The second plaintiff recalled that her abuse by the producer began in 2016 at his home. He would reportedly summon her to blind spots in his home where no cameras would see them.
Smokey also allegedly raped the second plaintiff without protection, and this happened over 20 times. He would also leave her in a mess with his semen splattered on her face. Should she resist, Smokey would allegedly threaten her with a promise that his wife would be mean to her.
Smokey Robinson And His Wife Are Business Partners

Beyond their now-joined fate in the ongoing lawsuit, Smokey and Frances, who tied the knot in 2002, are joint business owners. According to PEOPLE, the couple collaborated on a skincare line in 2016 for people of color. The line called "Skinphonic" featured products for men and women of color.
During an interview about the venture, Smokey explained that he decided to create something meaningful from his health-conscious life, although he still struggles with skincare due to his demanding job.
Smokey and Frances also partnered on a wine line, which they launched in 2018. The project, inspired by Smokey and Frances' friends, includes contributions from Bob Buzzelli and Louis Caputo of Grapevine Ventures.
The wines are reportedly produced in California in collaboration with Grapevine Ventures, stemming from discussions about the artistry involved in winemaking between Smokey and the vineyard's owners.
The creators felt making the wine would be a fitting way for Smokey and Frances to engage with fans. Each wine in the collection is reportedly named after some of Smokey's iconic songs.
The wine bottles featured titles such as "I Second That Emotion" for the Cabernet Sauvignon and "My Girl" for the Chardonnay.
