Late "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson's daughter-in-law, Korie, has revealed that he didn't "speak a lot" in the days leading up to his death.

Phil had been struggling with several health issues, including Alzheimer's disease. He ultimately gave up the ghost, with his family announcing on Sunday that they'll be holding a private funeral in his honor.

The hit A&E show is back for a revival and has already been renewed for a second season. However, the Robertson family matriarch, Kay Robertson, didn't feature much in it amid her health issues.

Korie Robertson has opened up about the touching final days of patriarch Phil Robertson, who passed away at the age of 79.

According to the New York Post, Korie revealed that Phil didn't "speak a lot" and his health was "declining really rapidly" as he battled the condition.

The latest revelation hints at the impact of Phil's illness on him, as he was known for his outspoken nature on his hit hunting show. Korie noted that seeing him on his deathbed was "so hard to watch."

"But he's so loved, and all the family is just coming around him and taking really good care of him," she continued.

According to the news outlet, Korie also shared that she went to visit Phil with her daughter, Sadie, shortly before his death.

"He's not saying very much anymore. He doesn't speak a lot," she explained, going on to recall how the late hunter "looked up and said something like, 'full steam ahead'" to her.

"He didn't say anything else that made sense, but he just said that to [Sadie], and it was just really special," she noted, explaining that the Robertsons were "cherishing" those moments with him.

Korie then weighed in on Phil's wife Kay's struggle with her health. She explained that the matriarch isn't doing well and could only feature in a few episodes of their revived show.

"She's actually in quite a few of the early episodes of this season," Korie explained, referring to "Duck Dynasty: The Revival."

"As the season went on, she had some health issues, too. And she's not been able to be on anymore," she went on. "So we're just thankful that Kay got to be on some of the earlier episodes, and we're going to really cherish those."

The Robertson Family Matriarch Is 'Not Doing Good'

In April, Phil and Kay's son, Jase, opened up about his mother's health struggles as he admitted that she was "not doing good" after suffering a fall, but was already recovering well.

"For my mom, it's been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good," he told listeners, per USA Today.

He then made a shocking revelation, suggesting that the family thought the matriarch might die.

"We were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it," he said in the episode, adding that "that's what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close there, so it was difficult."
