Despite a high-profile split and a rocky custody battle, Joe Jonas says he and Sophie Turner have found their rhythm as co-parents, and it’s something he’s truly grateful for.
The 35-year-old singer opened up about their evolving dynamic while speaking on Jay Shetty’s "On Purpose" podcast tour Friday night.
In a now-viral TikTok clip from the event, Joe Jonas called Turner “an incredible mom” and praised their shared efforts in raising daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.
Joe Jonas Calls Co-Parenting With Sophie Turner 'Beautiful'

“Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true,” the former Disney Channel star shared. “As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them.”
Jonas, who rarely speaks publicly about his personal life, gave a heartfelt glimpse into what values he hopes to instill in his daughters. “I want them to be open-minded and have a big heart,” he said. “I want them to be able to walk into any room and feel confident, and know they can do literally anything they want.”
He went on to describe their co-parenting relationship as “really beautiful,” expressing how “grateful” he feels for the balance they’ve managed to create since their split.
Inside Joe And Sophie's Split And Custody Battle

Jonas and Turner began dating in 2016 and got engaged the following year. They tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their two daughters in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
However, by 2023, the couple’s seemingly storybook romance came to an end, and the divorce news quickly turned complicated.
Turner filed a lawsuit accusing Jonas of “wrongfully removing” their daughters from England. The legal action escalated into a public dispute over custody and international living arrangements. Turner’s legal team argued that the children were meant to be raised in the UK, where the couple had recently found what she described as their “forever home.”
Jonas’s team pushed back, calling the lawsuit a “serious abuse” of the legal system and later clarifying that he was open to the children being raised in both the United States and the UK.
By October 2023, the exes reached a temporary custody agreement through mediation, easing tensions and setting the stage for a more collaborative parenting journey.
Joe Jonas Opens Up About The Fear Of Dating Again Post-Split

Joe's recent comments on co-parenting come just days after he admitted it was "scary and intimidating" to date again after his split with Turner.
While promoting his upcoming album "Music For People Who Believe In Love" during a recent "TalkShopLive" session, Jonas opened up about the emotional core of his song "Only Love."
"I was seeing somebody at the time and I was kind of having this idea of dating again," the Jonas Brothers bandmember recalled. "It was really scary and intimidating. Love takes different shapes and forms, and I was rediscovering what that was."
"It's okay to take a leap of faith and just try again and put yourself out there," he later added.
Sophie Turner Publicly Supports Joe's New Album

It also comes after Turner publicly supported Jonas and his new album "Music for People Who Believe in Love."
The album, which officially dropped on Friday, May 23, marks his first solo release since 2011’s "Fastlife." In an interview with PEOPLE, the singer revealed that creating the record wasn’t something he originally set out to do.
"We were writing for a camp for the [Jonas] Brothers," he said. "I just felt so drawn to this one song, and I asked the guys for approval. I was like, 'Hey, can I please take this one and maybe just explore where this could go for myself?' It felt very personal."
"Nick's words were like, 'I mean, I get it. I'm jealous, but I get it.' He's like, 'I didn't write on it, so I can't really say no,' " he recalled.
Joe Jonas Says Sophie Turner Split Deeply Influenced New Music

Jonas has also spoken candidly in the past about how his breakup with Sophie Turner played a major role in shaping the themes of his new music, calling it "scary at times" but "also freeing.
“I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album. I’m not trying to put stuff on blast … I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that," he told Billboard. "But also, the journey to get here.”
“I was going through a lot of life changes, finding out who I was as a person and father and friend, and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be," he continued. "And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet."
Joe Jonas' new album is out now.
