Phil Robertson Dies At Age 79

Phil Robertson's family took to Facebook on Sunday to announce that the professional hunter turned reality star has passed at age 79 following his heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer's disease.
"We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord," Phil's daughter-in-law Korie Robertson announced, recalling how he was defiant of death and bravely told loved ones that he considered it a comeback to the kingdom of God.
Korie went on to express her gratitude to fans and well-wishers who had offered prayers for Phil during his battle with the condition.
"Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen to the Good News of Jesus," she wrote.
She added, "We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again."
As fans continue to pour in tributes to the late star, Korie shared that the Robertson family would continue to remember their late patriarch and keep his memory.
"We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life," she said, adding that the family was planning on "having a private service for now, but we'll share details soon about a public celebration of his life."
Fans Pay Tribute To The Late 'Duck Dynasty' Star

Fans have already begun to send their condolences and share their favorite memories of the star on social media.
"He was a great example, and he would want us all to read our Bibles and begin to trust in God, and then tell others about what God is doing!" a fan wrote on X.
"To the Robertson family, I'm praying for each of you. Phil was a Godly man. He spoke his mind. He didn't give in when the producers of the show told him he could not say a prayer during his own show! He loved Miss Kay and the entire family. RIP Phil," another penned.
One fan said that Phil was "a bold and fearless Christian who shared God with millions. He will be missed."

Phil Robertson's Son Opened Up About The Patriarch's Struggle In His Final Months

Phil's final moments seemed to have been a torrential experience for him as it was revealed he could barely walk around without crying out in pain, making his return to TV screens in doubt.
His son, Jase, explained in December that he wasn't doing good and that his memory was starting to decline, explaining that doctors told the late patriarch that he had "some sort of blood disease" and it was "causing all kinds of problems," per USA Today.
Phil's other son, Al, said his dad had been suffering from the unnamed illness for "years," but noted it had "gotten a lot worse" at the time.

During an April 11 episode of their "Unashamed With The Roberson Family" podcast, Jase and Al shared that Phil and his ailing wife Kay had been staying in the same facility.
"We now have Phil and Kay back together - it has been fantastic," he said.
Jase added, "My dad's not doing great overall, and my mom is not doing great physically. She has to have pretty much 24/7 professional healthcare, but my dad, it's like ... he's been so much calmer since she came back."
Kay Robertson's Health Struggles Spark Fears

Speculations continue to mount over the state of Kay's health after she previously suffered a fall that left her needing medical attention.
Back in April, Jase opened up about her health struggle, admitting that she was "not doing good" but was recovering well after suffering a fall.
"For my mom, it's been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good," he told listeners.
He then made a shocking revelation, suggesting that the family thought the matriarch might die.
"We were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it," he said in the episode, adding that "that's what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close there, so it was difficult."
