Iconic 'Harry Potter' Star Rushed Into Emergency Surgery After 'Inability To Breathe'

"Harry Potter" alum Stanislav Yanevski, best known for playing Viktor Krum in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," revealed he recently underwent emergency surgery after being rushed to the hospital with severe breathing issues.

The actor took to Instagram early Friday morning to update fans, posting a photo of himself in a hospital bed.

In the image, the "Harry Potter" star is seen with a bandage across his nose and an IV in his arm, indicating he had just come out of surgery.

Alongside the photo, the 40-year-old star thanked fans for their outpouring of birthday wishes, expressing gratitude for the love and support he's received. “You’ve made me feel truly special,” he wrote in the caption, acknowledging the positive messages during what’s clearly been a difficult time.

Yanevski went on to share that he had been hospitalized due to an “inability to breathe,” which led to the emergency procedure. Though he didn’t disclose further details about the cause of his condition, he appeared to be in recovery and on the mend.

Fans flooded the comments with well-wishes, hoping for a speedy recovery for the beloved "Harry Potter" star.

"Damn man! Take care of you, get well soon," one of his fans said. "You’re a warrior man."

Time has finally come to reveal the news, but first things first. THANK YOU all for the lovely birthday wishes! I appreciate every post, every message and I promise you I’ve felt very special and supported on this very important day in my life. It is a new chapter, quite a milestone and I feel ever so blessed to be supported and loved by so many from around the world THANK YOU!

Now about the photo - soon after my birthday I was hospitalized due to inability to breathe. I was taken into surgery and the photo was taken right after I had come out of the surgical room. As always and those who know me closer, I went through this in silence as I didn’t want to scare or worry anybody. I’ve always been this way. I fight through struggles in quiet. Of course I had support from the few I had told and my family for which I’m very thankful.

I am still recovering and things are looking great. I will be able to breathe freely, experience all scents of life, which was something I had lost over the past months. I will be able to sleep without struggles, recover properly with peaceful sleep and be at my full powers very soon. I still have a few pieces planted in my nose, so I’m not able to talk freely, so please have some patience with Cameo - I stopped it, so I’m not available for bookings until I can talk properly again. I had a checkup with my doctor today and he said that I’m recovering really well and was actually quite surprised with my progress. I guess all the healthy diets, training and self control and belief help in such cases

For those who don't know, Yanevski played Viktor Krum in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2005). Krum is a famous Quidditch player from Bulgaria and the Seeker for the Bulgarian national team. He’s introduced during the Quidditch World Cup and later reappears as one of the champions selected by the Goblet of Fire to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, representing Durmstrang Institute.

Though a man of few words in the film, Krum plays a notable role as Hermione Granger’s unexpected date to the Yule Ball, sparking jealousy from Ron Weasley. Despite limited dialogue, Yanevski made a memorable impression due to Krum’s mysterious, brooding demeanor and his sudden affection for Hermione.

Something fans may not realize is that Yanevski was cast with almost no acting experience and was reportedly discovered during a casting session held at his school in London.
