Miley Cyrus is opening up about a terrifying health scare that landed her in the ICU, revealing that a low-budget music video shoot nearly cost her a leg.

During a candid appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, May 22, the 31-year-old pop star shared how she contracted a "brutal" infection while filming her upcoming visual album "Something Beautiful."

The shoot required Miley Cyrus to crawl and roll across the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a decision that, in hindsight, came with serious consequences.

"I caught something," Cyrus told Jimmy Kimmel, after explaining that her team didn't have the budget to formally reserve the location.

Instead, she opted to film guerrilla-style at night, when the iconic tourist strip was empty. "Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?" she asked. "I thought it was my last day."

Just weeks after filming in October 2024, Cyrus was hospitalized on Thanksgiving with a rapidly spreading infection in her knee.

"My leg began to disintegrate… around the kneecap area," she revealed. "And then the doctor goes, 'Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?'"

Kimmel jokingly asked if she was lucky not to end up with a hypodermic needle in her body. Cyrus laughed it off but didn't hold back from describing the doctor's reaction to her injury. "He was disgusted," she said. "It was bad."

Just days before revealing she was hospitalized with a brutal knee infection, Miley Cyrus opened up about another frightening medical scare involving a painful emergency that occurred live on national television.

Appearing on "The Zane Lowe Show" this week, Cyrus shared that she suffered an ovarian cyst rupture while co-hosting her Miley's "New Year's Eve Party" alongside country legend Dolly Parton to ring in 2023. The special was produced by "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels.

"I had a pretty traumatic experience on a show that I was doing with Lorne," Cyrus said. "I had a medical emergency. I had an ovarian cyst rupture, which we didn't know exactly what was going on, but it was pretty traumatic, 'cause it was extremely excruciating."

Miley Cyrus Says Harrison Ford Talked Her Out Of Touring 'Something Beautiful'

In the same interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Cyrus revealed that her original plan for her new album "Something Beautiful" involved an ambitious and logistically wild global tour.

"I wanted to perform in all the forests and at the pyramids," she shared, describing her initial vision as a globe-spanning series of remote, immersive concerts. But it was a conversation with "Indiana Jones" legend Harrison Ford at last summer's Disney Legends Awards ceremony that brought her back to earth.

"He goes, 'You really want to go and set up in a forest and do what?'" she recalled. "He's like, 'You going to bring a crew?'… He's like, 'Looks expensive.'" Cyrus said the comments hit home immediately. "I came back to the trailer, I was like, 'Guys, we're not performing in the forest anymore. Harrison Ford made a lot of sense.'"

Miley Cyrus Says 'Something Beautiful' Film Is Her 'Way Of Touring' Without Hitting The Road

Instead of trekking across the globe, Cyrus pivoted to turn "Something Beautiful" into a cinematic, full-length visual album, which she previously described as a "one of a kind pop opera."

"The film is my way of touring," she explained. "That's why I'm putting it into theaters, because it's something you can watch night after night and you get to discover and you get to feel like you're a part of a performance, but I don't have to tax myself in that way."
