Dave Portnoy is accusing the WNBA of "sh-ting" on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever after they launched an investigation into alleged racist claims against Chicago Sky's Angel Reese during their recent match.

The Barstool Sports founder, who was at the game, said in a video rant that the racist claims were "bullsh-t" and a mere internet rumor, which the league is now lending "credence" to with their probe.

Dave Portnoy also argued that the crowd at the game was "nice" and made up of "little girls, families, ladies."

In the wake of the WNBA launching an investigation into alleged racist claims against Angel Reese, sports media personality Dave Portnoy has questioned the relevance of the probe.

The investigation stemmed from alleged racist chants made against Reese during the Chicago Sky's match against the Indiana Fever, whose star, Caitlin Clark, had a controversial moment where she made a hard foul on Reese.

"Can't believe I'm making this video," Portnoy said in a rant on social media. "Today I see online, starting last night, just salty trolls, and I don't even know actually if they're just Chicago Sky fans, I think they're just trolls. They're people who just hate Caitlin Clark," Portnoy said.

He added, "They're trolls and they're like, 'Of course the Indiana Fever are making monkey sounds and other racist sounds at Angel Reese,' which is total garbage, totally made up."

Portnoy went on to claim that the actual crowd at the game wasn't made of racist fans, calling them a "nice crowd" of "little girls, families, ladies."

The Barstool Sports Founder Said The Investigation Is Unfair To Fever Fans

Doubling down on his defense of Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, Portnoy argued that the racism investigation would only serve to unfairly smear Fever fans.

He said, "Unless something happened, which I know it didn't, for them to acknowledge this and kind of paint Indiana Fever fans…..and say 'we're investigating the hate,' by acknowledging 'we don't condone hate' and not seeing that this was an internet rumor founded of complete bulls–t… you're lending credence to this."

Portnou also mentioned the controversial incident between Clark and Reese before adding that there wasn't anything else out of place in the match.

"Angel Reese deserved to get her ass booed when she attacked Caitlin on a normal foul," the Barstool Sports founder said. "Other than that, what are you talking about?"

"You guys are lucky you have Caitlin Clark, you are lucky you have the Indiana Fever," he continued. "It makes the league relevant. All you do is sh-t on them."

In the comment section of Portnoy's post, several fans supported his rant and slammed the WNBA.

"This is why the WNBA has failed for its entire existence. They are catering to racist Twitter trolls (Angel Reese fans) and don't care about basketball," a user commented.

"Once again, we already know this ain't true. The Person who has received the most actual abuse is CC, and she's never complained about it. F-cking league cannot get out of its own way. It doesn't fail in spite of itself, it fails BECAUSE of itself," another fellow remarked.

While several agreed with Portnoy, other fans felt the racism claims were true and that Portnoy was targeting Reese.

Someone wrote, "CC hangs out with Dave Portnoy, who continuously racially harasses Angel, her boyfriend & bro were liking hateful tweets against Angel last season, but somehow Angel reacting to her fouling her means that Angel hates her?"

Another said, "You just had to open up with 'I was there.' You suck."

A third person noted, "I think you might be missing the point of the statement, which is to address hate speech, not the fans themselves who are just passionate about their team."

"You literally have no self-awareness, do you lol," another commented.

Dave Portnoy Called Out Angel Reese Over Her Reaction To Caitlin Clark

Prior to the WNBA's statement on the racism allegations, Portnoy had already ripped into Reese for her reaction to being "fouled" by Clark.

Regarding the heated moment between the two athletes, Portnoy wrote on X, "Angel Reese, who actually played okay and looked like she improved her game, made a mockery of her existence."

"She got fouled, totally common foul by Caitlin Clark going for a lay-up. Falls down and then attacks her basically and makes a joke out of her existence, and why everybody hates Angel Reese," he added, per the Daily Mail.

Continuing his defense of Clark, Pornoy called out the WNBA, saying: "And shame on the WNBA, upgrading this to a flagrant foul. That's a flagrant foul? It was the most common, routine foul of all time. End of the story, it's a win, win, win. Fever look great, Caitlin Clark looks like she's going to be the MVP of the league, Angel Reese, made a fool out of herself and we won by 100 and I win. So we're back in the good mode."
