Haley Joel Osment Spotted For The First Time Since DUI Arrest

Former child star Haley Joel Osment was spotted taking his dogs for a walk, marking the first time he has been seen since his arrest for public intoxication.

Osment made news headlines in April for the wrong reasons following his arrest at the Mammoth Mountain resort in California.

The setback marked another wrong turn for Osment, who lost his home to the Los Angeles wildfires in January.

Osment is trying his best to avoid the spotlight following an embarrassing turn of events last month.

Pictures obtained by TMZ showed the "Blink Twice" taking his dogs for a walk on Wednesday.

He rocked a casual look, wearing a gray jacket over a maroon polo shirt and black pants.

He completed his look with a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap, dark shades, and brown palm slippers.

The actor was walking his dogs around the block when he was spotted. However, he noticeably kept a low profile as he went about his business.

Given recent events in his life, it is understandable why Osment might want to avoid the spotlight.

On April 8, the 37-year-old was arrested after law enforcement officials responded to a call about an intoxicated individual at the Mammoth Mountain resort in California.

According to TMZ, Osment was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.

Afterward, he was charged with disorderly conduct under the influence and possession of cocaine.

Osment will be arraigned on July 7 at the Mammoth Lakes branch of the Mono County Superior Court.

Osment also made headlines for his conduct during his arrest. Body cam footage showed him repeatedly claiming he was "being attacked" while officers tried to place him under arrest.

The "Forrest Gump" star also said, "I'm an American" when officers asked for his name.

The officers found a $20 bill in Osment's possession, which they unfolded to reveal a substance presumed to be cocaine.

The footage also showed a witness telling an officer that Osment was drinking at a bar close by before his arrest. He allegedly spilled a drink and was asked to leave but became "aggravated" and argued with the bar's employees.

Osment allegedly tried to get on a ski lift, but an employee stopped him and called the police.

Bodycam footage also showed Osment, now inside the police vehicle, saying, "I'm being kidnapped by a f-cking Nazi." He also used a racial, antisemitic slur against the arresting officer.

Haley Joel Osment spoke out following his arrest, expressing deep regret for his actions during the incident. He admitted to using racial slurs against a law enforcement officer while in a blackout state and owned up to his mistake.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE Magazine, Osment said, "I'm absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner."

The actor reflected on the difficult period leading up to the incident, sharing how personal challenges had taken a toll on him. "The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place," he explained.

Still, Osment clarified that no amount of hardship justifies what he said. "But that's no excuse for using this disgusting word," he stated.

He expressed sincere remorse, adding, "From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts."

Continuing his statement, he said, "What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I've let the Jewish community down, and it devastates me. I don't ask for anyone's forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake."

Haley Joel Osment has faced a series of hardships this year, including losing his home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January. His parents also lost their house in the blaze.

The actor is currently living with his sister, Emily Osment, in Los Angeles while he waits for the area to become safe enough to rebuild.

In March, he told Us Weekly, "Because I lost my house in the fires, I've been living with her for the past couple of months. So she's been very generous and helping me out there. She's fantastic."
