Larsa Pippen Calls 2020 Hookup A Mistake Amid Engagement Rumors

Larsa Pippen has an explanation for her 2020 hookup with NBA star Malik Beasley.

The "Real Housewives of Miami" star is blaming the confusion and chaos of the COVID pandemic for the mistake. While that chapter is behind her, Larsa has moved forward, now dating former pro basketball player Jeff Coby, who reportedly revealed plans to propose.

Before Jeff Coby, Larsa Pippen had been on and off with Marcus Jordan, a relationship that ended last March, marking a busy year in her love life.

Pippen opened up about her 2020 hookup with Beasley in an interview on the Jason Lee show, calling it a "mistake" caused by what she called "COVID brain." Pippen put the situation into context, saying:

"I just had COVID. I was stuck in my house, I hadn't gone anywhere. He was there. He was like, on me."

The conversation also touched on the awkwardness fans expected when Beasley and Pippen's son, Scotty Jr., ended up as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023. But she quickly dismissed the drama.

"They had a conversation when they were on the same team, and it was fine. It wasn't like we had a really bad breakup," she said. According to TMZ, Pippen's relationship with Beasley started back in 2020 while he was still married to Montana Yao. 

While she is setting the record straight, Pippen has moved on since 2020 and is currently dating former pro basketball player Jeff Coby.

In fact, things appear to be moving quickly for the couple, as the Daily Mail reported that after just four months together, they are already fueling engagement rumors following Coby's casual announcement about their upcoming wedding plans.

During a recent outing in Miami, Coby surprised everyone by declaring, "We're getting married in November 2025." After a quick mix-up correcting the year to 2026, he doubled down, "It's going to be a beautiful marriage."

When asked if he was proposing soon, he kept things playful, saying, "I can't tell you where I'm going to propose." As for Pippen, she stayed mostly quiet during the conversation, only mouthing a soft "thank you" as she was congratulated.

Pippen and Coby did not let their 19-year age difference slow them down. The couple was spottedgetting cozy on a yacht in Miami on April 28, surrounded by friends.

Their relationship reportedly started earlier this year at a party celebrating the 10th anniversary of DBC Fitness, where gym owner David Alexander introduced them at ZZ's Club Miami.

Coby, born and raised in Florida, entered the 2017 NBA Draft but went undrafted. The last time he played was two years ago in 2023 for the Yamaguchi Patriots. 

Meanwhile, Pippen had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Marcus Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, but they officially parted ways in March 2024.

Pippen's love life has been anything but simple. Before starting things with Coby, she was engaged in a long, on-again-off-again relationship with Marcus Jordan.

The Blast revealed that in March 2024, sources close to the couple confirmed they decided to end their turbulent romance for good. Despite their history of breaking up and getting back together, this time, both chose to move on separately.

Reports noted that since the split, Pippen and Marcus cut all communication and were focused on their own lives. Their final breakup came just a month after patching things up from their initial split, with Pippen ultimately deciding it was time to move forward without Jordan. 

The tumultuous former couple first fueled breakup rumors after removing every photo of each other from their social media and hitting the unfollow button. The situation caught more attention when Pippen shared cryptic posts on Instagram.

She asked her followers in a poll, "Should your friends unfollow your ex?" and posted a video of Morgan Freeman talking about the power of trusting your "inner voice."

By February 12, it was confirmed they had decided to pause their relationship. But just days later, the pair reunited on Valentine's Day in Miami, where Pippen was seen wearing a large diamond ring. 

Larsa Pippen might just be ready to take a second walk down the aisle.
