Justin Bieber and his longtime manager, Scooter Braun's relationship reportedly deteriorated over money after the singer's 2022 "Justice" world tour ended unsuccessfully.
Although Bieber had initially claimed Braun was overpaid and had taken millions of dollars through sly means, a new report backed by an internal audit paints a different story.
According to the report, Justin Bieber owes Scooter Braun over $8 million and had also promised to pay the manager's company, Hybe, $24 million after he pulled the plug on his tour early.
Justin Bieber's Alleged Money Problems With Scooter Braun Exposed

A new documentary by TMZ takes a deep dive into the fraught relationship between Bieber and his longtime manager, Braun.
According to the news outlet, it all goes back to the singer's 2022 "Justice" world tour, which he cut short due to physical and mental health issues.
Sources claim that when the tour ended early, Bieber was broke, which was an issue as he owed AEG, the promoters of his concert, $24 million due to him receiving a $40 million upfront advance.
At the time, Braun's company, Hybe, stepped in and agreed to help Bieber clear the debt, with the singer signing a note promising to pay back over the course of 10 years. However, Bieber reportedly only made one installment and then stopped repaying Hybe.
Sources close to Braun told the news outlet that Bieber's team called and admitted that the "Sorry" hitmaker didn't have the money to pay back what he owed.
Afterwards, Bieber's business manager, Lou Taylor, began digging through their books and came to the conclusion that Braun was grossly overpaid commissions worth around $26 million. This is when the matter seemingly escalated.
Hybe Conducted An Internal Audit, Unveiling The Opposite Of What The Singer's Business Manager Claimed

After Lou Taylor alleged that Braun was overpaid $26 million in commissions, his company, Hybe, conducted an internal audit and confirmed that Braun was actually underpaid commissions, with Bieber owing him $1 million.
While Braun is said to have "waived" the amount, Bieber's camp reportedly slammed the internal audit as "corrupt" and claimed that Hybe was only trying to save face and protect themselves.
This then spurred Braun's company to bring in an independent auditor, Pricewaterhouse [PWC], to conduct another internal audit.
According to TMZ, after six months of auditing, which ended in April 2025, PWC revealed that Bieber actually owed his longtime manager, Braun, around $8,806,000.
The news outlet further noted that Bieber's team did not dispute PWC's audit. However, they have conducted their own audit but don't intend to share what they learned.
Justin Bieber's Alleged Money Issues Were Previously Disclosed In An Exposé By The Hollywood Reporter

Bieber has long been trailed by rumors that he is facing financial struggles, which were recently intensified after a source alleged that the cancellation of his tour "triggered a series of financial consequences that are still plaguing the artist today."
This claim was contained in an article by The Hollywood Reporter in which a former employee of the "Baby" singer said he was millions in debt following the cancellation of his "Justice World" tour.
Bieber had initially delayed the tour in 2020 because of the advent of the COVID pandemic, and again in 2022 after he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused facial paralysis.
In the THR article titled "Justin Bieber's Crisis of Faith?," the news outlet noted that Bieber was not only broke but also owed a "large debt" to tour promoter AEG after canceling his tour, as he was reportedly given a $40 million advance before starting it.
"To date, Bieber has only returned a portion of what he borrowed," the news outlet shared in the bombshell report.
The Singer's Inner Circle Continues To Shrink As Former Pals Express Concern For His Well-Being

Besides ending things with his longtime manager, Braun, Bieber has also cut ties with his longtime security chief, Kenny Hamilton, and pulled the plug on his working relationship with TriStar after they left him feeling betrayed for allegedly mismanaging his finances for years.
However, the singer's former friends and associates are questioning his decisions as they claim he is being surrounded by people who are afraid to tell him "no."
"Whatever he's going through, I pray for him and hope he's OK," Bieber's former collaborator Poo Bear, who co-wrote some of his biggest hits, including "Despacito," and "What Do You Mean?" told The Hollywood Reporter.
"Seeing him disintegrate like this … it's watching the embodiment of someone not living their purpose," one former team member said. "He's lost. There's no one protecting him because there's no one there willing to say no to him. You say no, you get blown out."
Justin Bieber's Team Shut Down The Claim He Is 'Broke'

Bieber addressed the speculations that he has become "broke" and is owing millions of dollars.
The singer reacted to the claims made by The Hollywood Reporter in a statement released by his team on Wednesday, in which they assured fans that he's doing well.
"This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed — 'sources,' disappointed that they no longer work with Justin," Bieber's team wrote in the statement shared with Us Weekly.
They continued, "As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue. But they won't deter him from staying committed to following the right path."
Bieber's team also denied the claims in a statement to THR: "Any source that is trying to sell you a story about alleged financial distress ... either doesn't understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering portrait of Justin, which bears no resemblance to reality."
