Andy Cohen Shoots Down Rumors That 'RHONY' Has Been Canceled Despite Multiple Reports

Not so fast, "RHONY" fans. After news surfaced last week claiming Bravo was taking the beloved "Real Housewives of New York" off the air, Andy Cohen has jumped in, denying the reports.

On his radio show, Andy Cohen spoke with co-host John Hill about the status of "RHONY" and expressed his frustration with the many reports about the show's future.

“I guess I need to say again, even though Bravo said it,” Cohen said on the most recent episode of his radio show.

“I saw it,” Hill replied, adding, "It said, ‘Going off the air’ is the words they used.”

Cohen snapped back, "Well, I mean, I don't know how else to say it."

“We are between seasons on the Housewives," he continued.

Last week, a Page Six report said a source close to the production of "RHONY" told the outlet that Bravo was putting the series on an indefinite hiatus with "hopes" that it would return in the future.

"We're trying to figure that show out," an insider said. "We want to figure it out. We think there's still life in it."

Cohen, clearly annoyed with the headlines, explained that the network has been actively working on the next season behind the scenes.

"But what’s so interesting is last week when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new real housewives of New York," Cohen said.

"This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway. And that’s why nothing has been announced, so I don’t know what to say," he added.

Before he signed off, Cohen expressed his frustration with the story, calling it "odd" that it "just keeps going on and on."

In the comment section of his "Radio Andy" Instagram post, fans shared their thoughts about Cohen's update on "RHONY," and they were far from nice.

"Just cancel it. It's horrible," a user wrote. "We need some of the legacy crew."

"Sorry to hear this," another wrote. "The current cast is unwatchable. I watched the first season and was one and done."

A third user seemed to agree, writing, "I think the announcement that the show is not canceled is the actual disappointment."

"Why is it so hard to understand that people go crazy over the tabloids because they actually want the reboot to be canceled?" another commenter said.

The news about "RHONY's" potential cancellation was alarming to many of the show's viewers, especially considering the show was revamped for Season 14.

Cohen spoke about the decision to "start from scratch" in a previous interview, explaining that the network hoped it would breathe new life into the show.

"And when you start from scratch, Beverly Hills was a really successful season 1 cast, Jersey was a really successful Season 1 cast, Salt Lake City was a really successful season 1 cast. Those were people who were in each other's lives, who knew each other, who were relatives. That's one of the things that is going to be fun about this. Because when we find people that we love, we can say, 'Who are your friends? Who else is in your life?'" he said.

"I think it will be the rainbow that is New York City. That's the goal," he added.

In the meantime, while Bravo continues the pre-production process for the upcoming season of "RHONY," the network's loyal fans will still have plenty of drama to look forward to with other shows.

In early May 2025, Bravo revealed four new shows, including "The Real Housewives of Rhode Island."

According to the press release, the series will follow a "tight-knit circle of Rhode Islanders who have deep community roots and families that go back generations."

"With aspirational lives, thriving businesses and tangled family dynamics, these decade-long friendships prove that in a state this small, there's no escaping your past … or each other," the release continued.

Additionally, the cable channel will launch a "Ladies of London" reboot, along with "The Valley: Persian Style" and "Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition."
