Summer Walker Says She Is 'Over Men' After Splitting From Boyfriend Rico Recklezz

Summer Walker has clarified that she is done with men, at least for now. The R&B singer recently confirmed her split from rapper Rico Recklezz and didn’t hold back about how the breakup has shifted her mindset.

Taking to Instagram, Summer declared herself single with a post that read like a final note to her ex and a powerful shoutout to independence.

Fans were quick to rally behind her empowering message.

Summer Walker didn’t hold back her feelings on Thursday when she announced that she and Rico Recklezz had parted ways. The singer confirmed their split in a series of posts on her Instagram stories.

“Yes I’m single but don’t be weird now yall. I can’t even b think about fucking with another man,” she began.

Walker then revealed that she still loved the rapper, describing him as a “sweet man when he wants to be” and her “pumpkin for life.”

However, she clarified that things didn’t just work out as they wanted because they were from different worlds.

Walker asked the public to move on from the breakup and not create false narratives.

In another post, the 29-year-old doubled down with another message revealing that she was done with men.

“I’m literally honestly & truly over men like that’s it for me, I find more peace in being alone, but let’s normalize moving on without mess. No disrespect, no hard feelings, no bad mouthing each other. Everything copestetic on my end, it’s all lessons n love,” she wrote.

Walker didn’t stop there, dedicating three more slides to hammering on her need to find peace. The first two of the trio featured lyrics of her song “Finding Peace” as the jam played in the background.

In the last slide, the “Switch A N-gga Out” Crooner reposted a tweet from the account Oasisofserenity. “‘You’re so strict.’ God forbid a girl not play about her peace,” the tweet read.

Summer Walker and Rico Recklezz’s breakup quickly made the rounds, sparking a frenzy. The Shade Room reposted the breakup on Instagram, and in no time, fans filled the comments section with mixed reactions.

On one hand, some took Walker’s side, defending her and offering encouragement.

“Y’all she’s an Aries. I promise you she ain’t getting left, she do the leaving its second hand nature for us, we ain’t staying where we don’t want to be period,” one fan wrote.

While Walker didn’t tag her ex-boyfriend, many fans sensed that the pair had broken up. Before the pair parted ways, their relationship spanned only a few months, going public in early 2025.

The rapper had previously revealed that he had been chasing Walker, and it almost felt like he had become a stalker.

According to him, the only reason it didn’t become a stalking scenario was because he kept going to jail. In the end, the singer finally agreed to date him.

Before dating Recklezz, Walker was involved with over three men between 2019 and 2024. The singer dated London on da Track for two years before they broke up in 2021.

Although the pair’s relationship was tumultuous, London on da Track was a major force behind her breakout success.

Following their split, Walker became romantically involved with LVRD Pharaoh. Sadly, their relationship was short-lived, spanning only a year.

The songstress then moved on to Lil Meech in March 2023, sparking a public outcry. Many advised Walker to take some time off dating as she needed to focus on herself.

As many fans predicted, her relationship with Lil Meech lasted only nine months. Following their split, Walker began dating Coop Cashington in April 2024, but their romance ended a few months later.
