Paulina Porizkova Takes Off Her Clothes To Talk About ‘Shame’

Model Paulina Porizkova is ready to talk about shame.

Of course, her lengthy caption was tied to a photo of her stretched out on the bed, where it looks like she isn't wearing any clothing at all.

Never shy about flaunting her body for her million followers on Instagram, the popular model shared a fresh-faced photo of herself stretched out on her stomach. Her arms blocked her chest as she lay on her stomach, letting her long curly hair spill over her shoulders.

In the caption, she mentioned a three-year-old interview that she had shared the day before. In the clip, she talked about shame and hinted that it was being misinterpreted, judging by the comments on that video.

“Anything taken out of context can easily be misinterpreted,” she wrote in the caption. “I have gotten so many well-meaning comments about how I should embrace my age and not feel ashamed!”

She quickly put a positive spin on the feedback, writing, “It’s pretty obvious they are from new ladies on my page. That is very exciting!”

“Speaking about shame, admitting you know it and figuring out why and when you feel it is a foundational step in getting rid of it,” she continued. “Airing it out. Shame only thrives in dark corners. The sun obliterates it.”

“So, I’d like to welcome all of you kind and supportive ladies!! And now that you are here, have a little scroll through my content to see what it is I’m actually saying. What my perspective is,” she concluded. “And how very little shame I will actually allow and especially- and most importantly - act upon.”

Underneath a long string of hashtags, the popular model emphasized that she is “not ashamed of baring it at all,” adding, “Physically and emotionally. (As those of you who have stuck with me for a while know).”

She also credited her partner, Jeff Greenstein, for the photo, adding that the picture was “from one of the two nights we totally splurged on a hotel in our 5 weeks of traveling. It was so insanely beautiful we had to commemorate it.”

Paulina stirred up more discussion in the comments of this post as well. “I was astounded by the comment section in that post,” one fan wrote. “My heart ached for the feminine, it seems we have such a way to go before change and healing happen. But I will keep doing my best to be the change I wish to see in the world. Thank you, Paulina, for bravery and courageously riding the waves of life! All my love and respect.”

“You are an inspiration. Society wants aging women to feel shame about everything from their physical appearance to simply enjoying life, and you are fighting back! Keep it up, we are with you!” a third fan chimed in along with a few fist pump emojis.

Another follower felt that Paulina’s previous message on shame really resonated with them. “I love that clip and agree that by keeping shame hidden, it becomes more toxic. I remember the first time I felt shame about my age when I saw pictures I took of myself, but couldn't bring myself to post them as I was so ashamed of my aged face!!” she wrote.

“I was like, where did that come from!!?? Never imagined shame would be connected to aging. Your wise words are for all to hear and so glad you brought this subject up again,” she continued. “It can't be stressed enough! You are looking so magnificent and unashamed of the beautiful woman you are becoming with each year. Stunning shot.”
