Bethenny Frankel has shed more light on her recent relocation to Miami, as promised.
The "Real Housewives of New York City" alum first announced her move to Florida in an Instagram post, claiming she and her teenage daughter were leaving New York for "personal and professional reasons."
Weeks later, Bethenny Frankel has opened up about the real reason behind their decision in a candid TikTok video. She shares her 14-year-old daughter, Bryn, with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.
Bethenny Frankel Was 'Drowning' In New York

In her social media update, Frankel addressed the challenges she faced living alone in New York with her teenage daughter. She revealed it wasn't easy staying in a massive house despite its numerous luxuries, as it wasn't a part of the future she envisioned when she bought the property.
"It was just the two of us. It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life. I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I'd be entertaining there a lot," Frankel explained in the TikTok video, adding:
"The house was drowning me because it had an apple orchard, it was a historical house, it had all this property, and it was beautiful and amazing for a big family with kids and grandparents."
The Former Bravolebrity Could Not Handle The Loneliness
Frankel emphasized that the future she envisioned when she bought the home involved her being surrounded by a large family and a welcoming community. However, that dream never came true as the opposite happened.
"It just ended up being a place that I spent a lot of time alone [in] because I didn't really know many people in that community. It was lonely," the TV personality lamented. On that note, Frankel chose to simplify her surroundings and relocate to a place where she wouldn't have to be "home alone."
"My simplification is someone else's complication 'cause I'm still going to be in a beautiful home, but I just took on too much, and the idea of something was different than the reality of it," Frankel shared.
She said she initially wanted to wait for her daughter to attend college. Unfortunately, the pair couldn't handle the situation.

According to Frankel, she was "drowning" in the situation while her daughter was distracted by "something else."
Although the TV personality did not disclose what bothered her and Bryn, she noted a specific "moment" made her change her mind about waiting for her daughter to enter college before moving.
"The moment it became about her, I was able to be honest with myself about how I felt, and it freed both of us. I think I'll be lighter and brighter and happier in the coming months," Frankel shared.
She also expressed excitement for her "next chapter" and thanked fans for "getting [her] through this tough time." In her initial relocation announcement, The Blast reported that Frankel cited personal and professional reasons for her move to Florida.
Although Miami would become her new home, she told fans she would keep her properties in New York City and the Hamptons because she and Bryn still have deep feelings for New York.

"Oh my god, that's amazing. Will you be on the Housewives of Miami? I hope so. You'll kill those girls."
A third labeled Frankel's relocation a significant "loss for New York," while a fourth believed the entertainer's move signaled the start of a better life. "You will never look back! So proud to have you," the IG user declared. Frankel's move comes months after her Super Bowl bathroom mishap.
Bethenny Frankel Got Stuck In The Bathroom During The 2025 Super Bowl

Frankel nearly missed the championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 Super Bowl after getting trapped in the bathroom. She shared the incident on her Instagram Story, holding a broken door knob in a hilarious video.
The entertainer explained that while everyone was engrossed in the game, she was stuck in the bathroom and trying to get help. Despite her efforts to inform friends about her situation, the loud game drowned out her cries for support.
When someone finally noticed Frankel's ordeal and attempted to free her, the bathroom door proved to be an even greater challenge. Although she did not share how she was freed, Frankel noted she made it out on time to watch Kendrick Lamar's half-time show performance.
