Matt Damon turned heads at the "Shadow Force" premiere in New York City on Thursday night, stepping out with his wife of nearly 20 years, Luciana Barroso, looking every bit the rugged heartthrob.
The couple hit the red carpet at AMC Lincoln Square to support their longtime pal Kerry Washington, who stars in the new action thriller.
While the evening was all about "Shadow Force," fans couldn't help but focus on Matt Damon's new look.
Matt Damon’s Greek God Glow-Up

Damon rocked a casual-meets-chiseled vibe in a navy button-up, fitted black trousers, and sleek faux leather sneakers, plus a scruffy beard that gave him a mythic edge.
And it’s no coincidence because he’s currently channeling Odysseus while filming a big-screen adaptation of Homer’s "The Odyssey" in Greece.
His look may be for a role, but it didn’t go unnoticed by bestie Ben Affleck, who recently hyped-up Damon’s new bod, calling his physique “chiseled.”
Matt Damon And Wife Luciana Stun On Red Carpet

Luciana turned up the glam in a cream satin corset top and matching high-waisted trousers, showing off her killer figure in effortlessly chic fashion. She completed the look with brown leather mules, serving elegant goddess energy next to her leading man.
The couple, who tied the knot back in 2005, share three daughters, Bella, 18, Gia, 16, and Stella, 14, and Damon also helps raise Luciana’s 25-year-old daughter, Alexia, from a previous marriage.
Despite juggling parenting duties and an intense filming schedule overseas, Damon made time to jet back to NYC for the Easter holiday with his family before hitting the red carpet.
Matt Damon Teases Role In Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Earlier this year, Damon briefly acknowledged his epic new role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Martian" actor offered his first comment on the highly anticipated project, saying, “I literally have an odyssey in front of me.”
While many details remain wrapped, what we do know is Damon is set to star as the legendary Greek hero Odysseus, with Tom Holland playing his son, Telemachus. Universal Pictures confirmed the film in December 2024, teasing fans on X, "Christopher Nolan’s next film 'The Odyssey' is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology."
Matt Damon Channels Odysseus Alongside Zendaya In Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

The 54-year-old actor was recently spotted shirtless and seriously shredded while filming scenes for "The Odyssey" in Favignana, Italy. Rocking rugged tan pants, a scruffy gray beard, and abs for days, Damon looked every bit the battle-worn Odysseus as he filmed alongside co-star Zendaya on a rocky hillside.
Plus, back in February, the studio dropped a first-look photo of Damon decked out in full armor, a cape, and a headpiece, giving fans their first taste of Nolan’s sweeping vision.
Critics quickly called out the lack of Greek representation in both the casting and filming locations. One frustrated user commented, “No real ‘Greeks’ cast in a movie about Ancient Greece … very very very disappointing.”
Another added, “As a Greek, this is so disappointing on all levels. Not a single Greek cast member in sight, the movie won’t film at all in any parts of Greece. Very upsetting considering Nolan is known for his authenticity.”
Ben Affleck Says Matt Damon’s New Role Is Giving ‘Bourne Identity’ Flashbacks

Affleck, Damon’s longtime friend and producing partner, opened up about how the “Instigators” star was deep in stunt rehearsals for the film, and shared what it’s like for them to tackle action roles in their 50s.
“I used to be very gung ho about like, ‘Oh, I’ll do the fights, I’ll do the stunts.’ And now I am very much, ‘At what point is the stunt performer going to come in and do this?'” Affleck told GQ earlier this year. “It’s one of the things I was talking to Matt about, he’s going off to do this Chris Nolan movie and doing a lot of stunt rehearsal, and it was kind of like, Boy, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Where you really have to go learn the fights, this is 'Bourne Identity' kind of territory.”
With "The Odyssey" set to storm into IMAX theaters on July 17, 2026, it looks like Damon’s transformation from clean-cut action star to ancient Greek legend is well underway, and fans are here for it.
