A day before the Eagles' scheduled visit to the White House, Barkley, who popped off in the Super Bowl LIX game against the Kansas City Chiefs, was seen golfing with the nation's current president, Trump.

"This is Saquon Barkley CHOOSING to endorse a rapist. A person who was found LIABLE of RAPE. No 'alleged,' no 'ifs,' it's a fact," a user wrote. "That's apart from the other cases and the laws he promoted, which have MURDERED many women. 'Liberal' Eagles fans are awfully quiet, and it's disgusting."

But the negative reactions didn't end there.

Another user expressed their disappointment with Barkley for "hanging out with Trump, who is a disgrace to this country."

"Dudes like Saquon Barkley are embarrassing as f-ck," another user posted. "Like, I wouldn't be able to face my family no matter how rich I was."

Other social media users pointed to the Eagles' quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who has been dodging questions about Trump since February 2025. Hurts also caused some commotion when he avoided answering whether he'd attend the White House during a TIME Magazine press event.

"Jalen Hurts is 10x the man Saquon Barkley will ever be," they wrote. "That's it. That's the tweet."

But Barkley couldn't let the pushback go unchecked.

'You Respect The Office, But The Person Currently In Office Doesn't Respect You' ... Users Continue Firing Shots At Barkley

However, Barkley's statement did little to calm the backlash. If anything, it only fueled the criticism.

"You respect the office, but the person currently in that office doesn't respect you," someone wrote.

Another shared, "'Just golfed with Obama' felt like he was saying, 'I have Black friends!'"

"Saquon Barkley is coming across tone deaf," a netizen wrote on X. "That's all I'm going to say about that."

A fourth poster urged Barkley to "read the room," considering today's political climate. "We're living in divisive times. He has the right to do what he wants and should. But people also have the right to form their own opinion based off this."

Despite the noise, Barkley is sure to join the Eagles when they officially visit the White House on April 28 after defeating Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in February 2025.

Head coach Nick Sirianni called the chance to visit an "honor" on April 1 and stated he and his team were "really excited to go."

"Teams that have been able to win championships have been doing that for a long time, and I'm really honored to go," he said.
