The TLC Star Was Arrested For Keeping Harmful Substances In The Car With Her Kids

Tammy's visit to the zoo last year could not have ended any worse. Aside from her camel bite, she also got booked by the police for keeping drugs in her car.

As shared by The Blast, following her bite, Amy was reportedly taken away on a stretcher. However, her treatment was paused after police investigated the scene and discovered psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana inside her vehicle, which contained her two children.

The Crockett County Sheriff's Department announced her arrest on Facebook, along with a man named Brian Scott Lovvom, at the Safari Park.

Authorities had reportedly noticed a strong odor emanating from Slaton's car, prompting a further search. Both individuals faced multiple charges, including illegal possession of controlled substances and two counts of child endangerment.

Despite her arrest, police confirmed that the investigation into her case was ongoing, and she had not been convicted of any crimes.

The Crockett County Sheriff's Department also emphasized that the charges she faced were simply accusations and not indicative of guilt. Following her arrest, public interest surged, with many offering to help cover her bail.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing her and her companion, Brian, leaving the facility together, with Amy appearing to have a tourniquet below her elbow.

The pair was released on a $10,000 bail and quickly departed in a waiting vehicle, avoiding interactions with the media, as captured in a viral Facebook video. In the meantime, Tammy's social media was flooded with inquiries about her sister's condition before her release.

Last December, The Blast reported that the reality star received a suspended jail sentence of nearly one year after pleading guilty to a drug charge involving "simple possession."

This sentence allowed her to avoid incarceration, especially since her charges related to child abuse and child endangerment were dismissed. As part of her agreement with prosecutors, she was required to complete an alcohol and drug program and pay a $500 fine.

She was also ordered to maintain no contact with the Tennessee Safari Park, where the legal issues originated in September. Although she managed to avoid prison time through a plea deal, Amy must strongly comply with the conditions outlined in her agreement.
