Flavor Flav Reflects On Flavorchella And That Wild Bunny Costume Moment

Flavor Flav turned Coachella into Flavorchella, and no one saw it coming!
The Public Enemy legend made a surprise appearance during Green Day’s Weekend 2 headlining set on April 19, and the moment was straight out of a fever dream in the best way possible. The band kicked things off with their usual tradition, a giant pink bunny (aka the mascot for their Punk Bunny coffee brand) running across the stage.
But this time, when the fuzzy head came off, it wasn’t your average punk mascot under there… it was Flavor Flav!

The clock-wearing rap icon popped out, lit up the stage, and dropped his signature “YEAHHHHH BOYYY!” sending the crowd into absolute chaos.
Flav opened up about the unforgettable moment during a Raising Cane’s press event promoting his latest campaign, and The Blast was in the room for it all.
“Green Day. Come on man, everybody loves some Green Day,” Flav said. “And right before their show, they have this bunny that comes out… You know, the hype of the crowd and everything.”
“So this weekend, they decided to put Flav in the bunny suit,” he revealed. “I got in the bunny suit, got out there on that stage, man, the crowd went crazy.”

But that wasn’t Flav’s only Coachella moment.
Earlier in the weekend, he also hit the stage with "Yo Gabba Gabba!," and got a little emotional about it.
“'Yo Gabba Gabba' is a show that I used to always watch with my son Connor,” he shared. “For me to be able to go up there on that set and for the first time ever in my life seeing these characters in person… it was phenomenal.”
Flavor Flav Stole Coachella With The Most Unexpected Collabs

Flav also gave a shout-out to his late friend, hip-hop icon Biz Markie, who was a part of "Yo Gabba Gabba!" too.
“Biz Mark, he was part of that show,” Flav said. “A lot of us grew up from kids with these characters… and a lot of those adults that was in that crowd were kids once who grew up with the show.”
From cartoon sets to punk rock stages, Flavor Flav is having one of the most unexpected (and epic) glow-ups in Coachella history.
Flavor Flav Clocks In At Raising Cane’s After Coachella

But Coachella wasn’t the only place Flav was turning heads.
Just days later, he clocked in at Raising Cane’s in Las Vegas to launch his new campaign with the fast-food favorite, and yes, he even worked a shift!
Dressed in full Cane’s gear, Flav greeted fans, served up chicken, and tried his hand at building the perfect Box Combo, all before jumping on stage to perform “Every Where Man.” The collab is all part of Cane’s new Flavor Fast campaign, built around Flav’s high-energy vibe and, of course, his signature bedazzled clock necklaces.
“When time is low, there’s only one place to go: Raising Cane’s!” Flav declared, putting his own spin on the chain’s chicken-fueled urgency.
Flavor Flav Drops Limited-Edition Cane’s Clock Necklace

To celebrate, fans can now grab an ultra-limited Raising Cane’s x Flavor Flav custom clock necklace, designed and hand-bedazzled by celebrity jeweler Kelly Salvagio of Rock N Stonez, the same designer behind Flav’s iconic timepieces. The necklaces are currently on sale via RaisingCanesGear.com, with net proceeds benefiting the Women’s Sports Foundation.
“Giving back is always important. I get a lot of love, but that’s because I gave love first,” Flavor said at the event.
Raising Cane’s CEO Talks Flavor Flav Collab

“Flavor Flav is an icon in many ways and I couldn’t think of anyone better to join us at Cane’s today and be the face of our upcoming campaign about flavor,” Todd Graves, CEO of Raising Cane’s said. “He’s a great guy and we share a passion for helping others, so it makes me proud that we can team together and support the Women’s Sports Foundation and continue making a difference.”
From punk shows to chicken shifts and Coachella cameos, Flavor Flav is in his multi-hyphenate era, and whether he's rocking a mic or a drive-thru headset, one thing's always true: you know what time it is.
