YEAHHH BOYYY! Flavor Flav recently made the leap from rap legend to Olympic hype man, and it might be his most iconic role yet.
The Public Enemy co-founder and clock-wearing cultural icon took Paris by storm at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he proudly served as the official hype man and sponsor for the U.S. women’s and men’s water polo teams, and let’s just say, he made a serious splash.

The unexpected but heartwarming partnership began when U.S. women's water polo team captain Maggie Steffens posted to Instagram asking for support for her underfunded squad. Flav’s manager spotted the post, and the rest was history.
“I've always wanted to know what it feels like to be at the Olympics because I've always watched it on television,” Flav said during a Raising Cane’s press event, where The Blast was in attendance. “I've never ever been around it ever. Having the opportunity to sponsor the United States Olympic water polo team gave me the reason and the chance to travel to Paris and attend the Olympics.”
He added, “I would like to emphasize that it was one of the most breathtaking moments of my life. Dream come true.”
Flavor Flav Brings His Family To Paris For The Olympics

And Flav didn’t roll solo. He made it a full family affair.
“I have my family with me too over there, you know," he said. "And first of all, one of my most exciting moments is watching my family being able to enjoy Paris for the first time ever.”
Flavor Flav Cheered On Simone Biles, Met Billie Jean King, And Took Her To Lunch

But it wasn’t just water polo that Flav was cheering for.
“Me going over to the floor exercises this year, number one, and I got to see Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles winning gold medals,” he shared. “And not only that, but that's also the day that I met the great Billie Jean King.” But, Flav didn’t just meet the tennis legend, he took her and her wife Alana to lunch. “We had a nice lunch, nice, you know it was nice, it was great.”
From cheering on the women’s rugby team to watching them win bronze to having Spike Lee, Guy Fieri, and his friend Casey Watson show up to support him at the water polo arena, Flav’s Olympic experience was packed with star-studded, unforgettable moments.
“One of my most proudest moments was over at the Water Polo Pool. When I was sponsoring my girls and watching them go for their fourth gold medal in a row,” he said. “That was like my most favorite moments, and just being there.”
Flavor Flav Shouts Out Snoop Dogg’s Olympic Takeover

And of course, no Olympics story would be complete without a little Snoop Dogg crossover.
“I never even physically saw Snoop over there. But we did FaceTime with each other, though,” Flav said. “They couldn't pick a better ambassador for rap music than Snoop."
Throughout the Games, Snoop Dogg contributed to NBC’s Olympic coverage as a special correspondent. Dubbed the network’s “ambassador of happiness,” he provided lively commentary, conducted athlete interviews, and explored Parisian landmarks, infusing the broadcasts with his signature humor and enthusiasm.
"Snoop really did a beautiful job over there. He was everywhere. NBC had that man everywhere, you hear me?" Flav added. "Snoop, I'm really proud of you.”
Flavor Flav Declares He’ll Be A Torch Bearer At The 2028 LA Olympics

And the best part? Flavor Flav already has his eyes on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and he wants a role that’s bigger than just cheering from the sidelines.
“I just wanna sit here and feel proud and close my heart to say 2028 when the Olympics come to LA, your boy Flava Flav is gonna be a torch bearer,” he declared. “Your boy Flava Flav is gonna be a torch bearer.”
From beats to gold medals and baguettes with Billie Jean King, Flavor Flav just proved once again that no one hypes quite like him. Let’s hear it for Team USA’s most unexpected MVP.
