Fans were not expecting Jennifer Aniston to show up in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, and it turns out she wasn’t either!
During the season 2 premiere, Bella Ramsey’s character, Ellie, picks up a 2003 issue of People magazine’s “Best & Worst Dressed” issue, where Aniston appeared on the cover alongside Kate Hudson and Britney Spears.
On Tuesday, April 22, Aniston reacted to her unexpected cameo on her Instagram Stories. "Of all things to survive the apocalypse," she wrote over the clip.
Jennifer Aniston Was Rumored To Be Dating Pedro Pascal

Last month, rumors that Aniston was involved with the show’s star, Pedro Pascal, surfaced when they were seen leaving the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles on March 23. At the time, a source told Peoplemagazine that the two had a “business dinner to get to know each other better.”
A source told the publication that Aniston “likes” Pascal’s “energy” and would “love to work with him.”
However, their relationship didn’t seem all business when she took to Instagram to celebrate his 50th birthday. She shared a New Yorker comic making fun of a therapist who said that “a lot of people are reporting that their faith in humanity is riding entirely on whether or not Pedro Pascal is as nice as he seems."
"Can confirm — as nice as he seems," Aniston wrote over the comic.
Pedro Pascal In ‘Active Denial’ Over ‘The Last Of Us’ Twist

WARNING: Spoilers for season 2 to follow.
Fans of the video game were all too aware that Joel was not going to survive the season; however, fans who only watched the show were baffled to see Pedro Pascal’s character Joel Miller get the ax in an almost-literal fashion (it was a golf club).
He told Entertainment Weekly that he is still in “active denial” regarding his fate on the Emmy-winning drama series.
"I realize this more and more as I get older, I find myself slipping into denial that anything is over. I know that I'm forever bonded to so many members of the experience and just have to see them under different circumstances, but never will under the circumstances of playing Joel on The Last of Us,” he explained. “And, no, I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it because it makes me sad."
"It was just a matter of how and when," Pascal added of his death scene, which he was aware of before he even started the job.
Pedro Pascal Knew His Time On The Show Was Coming To An End

Ahead of the second episode of season 2, titled “Through the Valley,” Pascal recalled filming his death scene in Kamloops, Canada. He recalled a “weirdly relaxing time” in the makeup chair and had a "good conversation" with prosthetics guru Barrie Gower and makeup designer Paul Spateri as they covered him in fake blood.
"I was always sidestepping how I really felt, that in a big way, my experience was coming to an end on the show," Pascal said. "I guess that was the strangest thing to step through because I felt so bonded to everyone in the show after going through the gauntlet of season 1 together, not just with Bella, but with the entire cast and crew.”
“So to have this goodbye was very sad for me, and I had such a physical manifestation, a violent mirror of how sad it was for Joel to die,” he added. “To be honest, it was quite dreamlike."
Pedro Pascal May Not Be Totally Gone From ‘The Last Of Us’

As seen in the season 2 trailer, there are scenes that have been teased that the audience has not seen. This may mean that Pedro Pascal may still appear in a flashback scene or even a dream sequence as the character, Ellie, seeks revenge.
New episodes of “The Last of Us” appear on HBO and are available to stream on Max every Sunday at 9 PM ET.
