Both Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman will be subpoenaed this week, if recent reports can be believed.
Swift is close friends with Blake Lively, while Jackman is close friends with Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds. It's unclear how much involvement they had in Lively's "It Ends With Us" legal battle against director Justin Baldoni.
Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman Reportedly Set To Be Subpoenaed

Blake Lively seemingly began the legal dispute against Baldoni when she accused him of sexual harassment on the set of the film “It Ends With Us.” Baldoni fired back, claiming not only that the allegations were false, but that she only filed the lawsuit after she attempted to take creative control of the movie away from him.
On Tuesday, April 22, a source told the Daily Mail exclusively that Swift and Jackman will “most definitely be served this week” as the legal battle continues between both sides.
“It could happen at any time,” the insider added, noting that Swift has not been seen with Lively since the drama around the lawsuit started.
How Involved Was Swift In 'It Ends With Us'?

Many have questioned how involved the "Anti-Hero" singer has been in the movie, given conflicting reports. Although she did not appear in the film, one of her songs was used in the film's trailer and soundtrack, apparently at Lively's request. There are also rumors that she was involved with script changes and had a hand in the casting process.
In August 2024, Lively discussed Swift's involvement in the film during an interview on CBS Mornings. “I think that, for better or worse, she experienced the whole thing with me,” she said at the time, adding that the pop star was at her side “throughout this whole process.”
“This was actually — it’s quite a small budget movie. … So we never thought, like, our eyeballs were not that big to think that we could put one of her songs in the movie and it had to be,” she added, again referring to the singer giving her permission to use the song “My Tears Ricochet” in the film’s trailer and soundtrack.
Justin Baldoni Claims Taylor Swift Helped Cast Isabela Ferrer

Even Baldoni seems to agree that Swift was involved in the film in some capacity. In a resurfaced clip from Access Hollywood, Baldoni reveals that he cast actress Isabela Ferrer to play a younger version of Lively’s character after Swift and Lively agreed that she was a "phenomenal actress."
“I had actually brought in and showed her casting tape to Blake and Taylor and they were both, like, ‘Yes! Her,'” Baldoni revealed. “And that’s a true story.”
Ferrer also seems to admit that Swift had a hand in her casting, telling Extra at the film's premiere that the "Love Story" singer had "some influence" in her getting the role.
“I don’t even know if I’m supposed to be saying it, but I’m saying it!” she explained. “Yeah, she was a helpful part of the process of the audition, which I found out later after I got it, and that rocked my world. I have no words.”
Taylor Swift Is ‘Taking A Break’ From The Spotlight

It seems that Swift is trying to keep her head down amid the legal battle. According to Us Weekly, she and her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, are “taking a break” from the spotlight after she wrapped up her wildly successful Eras Tour last year.
One source told the publication that the couple wants to try living a “normal life” following her record-breaking tour and the Super Bowl.
A second insider revealed that the couple “needed time for themselves,” adding, “Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love. They’re just taking a break from the public eye.”
Swift Might Have Become ‘Overexposed’ Amid The Super Bowl

Swift’s appearance at the Super Bowl was a hot topic of conversation in the weeks leading up to the event. She also became a widely debated topic following the event after she was booed during the game.
David E. Johnson, CEO and founder of Strategic Vision PR Group, told the publication that it was “a smart move” for Swift to step back from the spotlight after that viral moment.
“They’d become overexposed to the point we were starting to see a slight backlash against their brand,” he explained. “No celebrity wants to be overexposed… Limiting their exposure lends more intrigue, and their appearances garner more coverage.”
It remains to be seen how her star power will affect Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle, which is set to go to trial next year.
