Blake Lively’s Alleged ‘Super Shady’ Lawsuit Surfaces Amid Explosive Justin Baldoni Scandal

The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni just got a whole lot messier.
New reports are surfacing, claiming that Lively reportedly filed a “super shady” lawsuit months before publicly accusing her "It Ends With Us" co-star, Justin Baldoni, of sexual harassment.
The kicker? The original suit was allegedly filed through Blake Lively's company, Vanzan, without using her name, a move legal experts are now calling “clandestine.”
Blake Lively’s Alleged Secret Lawsuit Targeted Justin Baldoni’s PR Team

According to Daily Mail, the September 2024 filing attempted to subpoena incriminating text messages from Baldoni’s now-former PR team, targeting his ex-publicist Stephanie Jones and her firm, Jonesworks. The subpoena requested all documents and communications involving Baldoni, Lively, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Jones allegedly handed over a trove of private messages, including exchanges between former staffer Jennifer Abel (who still worked with Baldoni) and PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan. One of the bombshell texts? Nathan reportedly wrote, “We can bury anyone.”
Blake Lively's legal team has since cited those messages as proof that Baldoni, Nathan, and Abel orchestrated a calculated smear campaign against the "Another Simple Favor" star during the August 2024 promo run for "It Ends With Us."
However, the lawsuit was quietly withdrawn on December 19, just a few days before Lively officially filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching an alleged plot to ruin her career.
Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Calls Lively’s Lawsuit A 'Sham'

Legal insiders aren’t exactly buying the coincidence.
“This was done in bad faith and constitutes a flagrant abuse of process,” Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman told Page Six, calling the initial filing a “sham.” He slammed the tactic, stating, “This sham lawsuit was designed to obtain subpoena power without oversight or scrutiny… There is nothing normal about this.”
Attorney Ron Zambrano, who is not involved in the case, added, “They intentionally did this to really work in a very surreptitious and clandestine way.”
Blake Lively's team, however, is standing their ground.
In a statement to Deadline, attorneys Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb insisted, “There is nothing untoward here — just conscientious and thorough investigation.” They argued the lawsuit was filed using “entirely lawful and appropriate” methods to uncover the alleged “documented plan” to “destroy” Lively.
“We have absolutely nothing to hide,” her lawyers said, claiming Lively disclosed the subpoena voluntarily, knowing it would come out during discovery.
Inside The Explosive Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni Legal War

The “super shady” lawsuit drama is just the latest twist in the increasingly explosive legal saga.
Blake Lively officially filed her lawsuit on December 31, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment tied to their work on the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s domestic violence novel.
Baldoni has denied all allegations and fired back in January with a massive $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against both Lively and Reynolds.
New UK Doc 'He Said, She Said' Dives Into Lively And Baldoni Scandal

As the drama heats up, it’s also being dissected in an explosive new UK documentary titled "He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni," which is already generating buzz across the pond. The doc not only covers the dueling lawsuits and allegations but also delves into the once-warm dynamic between the co-stars.
Intimacy expert Mia Schachter appears in the film, reviewing alleged texts between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, some of which Baldoni himself released, suggesting there may have once been “genuine affection” and “possibly even some flirtation” between the two.
But that’s not the only headline Blake Lively's made lately.
Blake Lively Accused Of Bizarre Encounter At Texas Hotel After SXSW Appearance

In a bizarre twist, Blake Lively is now facing new allegations related to an alleged strange encounter at the upscale Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas.
A 27-year-old Houston woman named Kaitlyn Cooper claims she spotted Lively at the hotel shortly after the actress appeared at the SXSW premiere of Another Simple Favor. Cooper says she kept her distance, quietly capturing a short video of Lively from afar. But it’s what allegedly happened the next morning that shocked her.
Cooper claims Lively approached her and her mother while they were checking out, calling the encounter “unexpected and unsettling.”
While the full nature of the interaction has not been publicly detailed, Cooper says she was “completely caught off guard and confused.”
