Usher has been caught on camera in what some call a “contemptuous act” while staying at a hotel in Paris amid his European music tour.

The 46-year-old singer, known for his smooth vocals, came under fire for his behavior at the exclusive Baccarat Hotel.

While leaving the $1,135-per-night hotel with a female companion, Usher seemed unimpressed when no staff member opened the door for him.

In the clip that surfaced online, the “Hey Daddy” singer can be seen holding the door for his guest, but briefly gestures for a doorman to hold the door for him too while seemingly telling them how to do their job.

Fans were quick to react, with many criticizing the artist for what they deemed entitled behavior. Social media users labeled the moment “rude” and questioned his attitude toward the hotel staff.

Usher's Hotel Door Controversy Sparks Debate Online Among Fans

As reported by the Daily Mail, the reactions to the viral video of Usher's hotel exit have been pouring in on TikTok, with varying opinions.

Critics of the singer accused him of being "disrespectful," with one user commenting, “He is rude, the least he could have done would have been to open the door for the woman accompanying him or ask the employee to do so.”

Another viewer expressed their disappointment, writing, “He really called the man to hold the door. You obviously can open and hold the door yourself. Shameful really. Doing this is so obvious.”

On the other hand, some fans came to Usher’s defense, arguing that he had every right to expect top-tier service at a luxury hotel.

“The doorman has one thing to do: open and hold the door. Usher didn't yell at him either. If I'm not doing my job properly, it's normal for someone to point it out to me,” one supporter shared.

Another added, “The doorman at the hotel had ONE job. And he failed.”

A third user summed it up by saying, “When you pay a certain price, you expect a certain service. Those who don't understand this have simply never set foot in a certain type of establishment.”
