Tyrese Gibson's ongoing battle to lower his child support payments hit a roadblock.
The "Fast & Furious" star's ex-wife, Samantha Gibson, fired back in court, urging a Georgia judge to toss out his plea with claims that he has been falling short on payments for over a year. Tyrese previously claimed a significant drop in income and opened up about how the current payments strain his finances.
Tyrese and Samantha Gibson, who finalized their split in 2023, share a 5-year-old daughter, Soraya, with Samantha currently holding primary custody.

In court documents filed on February 14, Samantha asked the judge to dismiss Tyrese's request to reduce the $10,690 monthly support he was ordered to pay starting in September 2022.
Samantha alleged Tyrese "has only paid the full monthly amount three times," leaving him behind by $107,850, plus an additional $4,105 in interest. That brings the total owed to $111,955.
Her legal team argued that his petition was just another delay tactic and emphasized that the amount had already been deemed fair by the courts.
In Touch reported that Samantha also noted that since Tyrese appealed the ruling to the Georgia Supreme Court, the lower court has no authority to change the terms.
The Actor Claimed Income Drop In Push To Lower Child Support Payments

The Blast reported that the 46-year-old filed the request on December 3, 2024, just weeks after his arrest and release related to unpaid child support.
In his filing, Tyrese stated that his monthly earnings had reduced to around $39,000, representing an 85% drop since September 2024.
His legal team pointed out that Tyrese's income had always fluctuated due to his self-employed status, but the recent decline made a strong case for adjustment.
They argued that since his financial status no longer met the threshold of a high-income earner, "Tyrese's child support obligation should be modified based upon the current incomes of both parties, effective immediately."
Tyrese Blasted Judge And Lawyer After Jail Time Over Unpaid Child Support

Tyrese did not hold back after spending a short stint behind bars last year for failing to meet child support obligations. After his release, he took to Instagram and called the experience "very traumatic," making it clear he did not believe he was treated fairly in court.
The singer vented frustration toward Judge Kevin M. Farmer and Samantha's attorney, Adam Glickman, questioning why they seemed so set against him.
In the since-deleted post's caption, he claimed both were working to destroy him, alleging he had already attempted to have Judge Farmer removed from the case twice.
He also slammed the judge for applying a child support figure from another California case to his current Georgia case, calling the move unethical, illegal, and unprecedented.

Tyrese added fuel to the fight by claiming that Judge Farmer's remarks in court showed clear animosity, which he argued was illegal. He acknowledged that Samantha's attorney, Glickman, had the right to dislike him but insisted that a judge remain impartial.
Taking things a step further, Tyrese alleged that there was a behind-the-scenes conspiracy between Judge Farmer and Glickman. He suggested that the two were in regular contact and possibly working together to sabotage his case. In his words:
"I'm very sure that there is collusion and that the judge and Adam Glickman are besties. They allegedly are texting each other constantly, and they've been plotting and scheming and working in conjunction with each other."
Tyrese Gibson's Face-Off With First Ex-Wife Over Fraud And Restraining Orders

Tyrese's legal headaches were not limited to one ex; his first wife, Norma Mitchell, also took him to court last year.
In April 2024, he accused Norma of blackmail and fraud in a public tirade. She hit back with a defamation lawsuit and asked a judge to issue a restraining order to protect both her and their daughter.
Norma also demanded that Tyrese take down several social media posts she believed targeted her. Despite the serious allegations, the court ultimately sided with Tyrese, not once, but twice.
Her request for a temporary restraining order was turned down, and her attempt at securing a permanent one was thrown out after she failed to appear at the August hearing.
