The new sexual assault lawsuit against Carter was filed by a woman named Laura Penly. The alleged victim recounted her relationship with him in detail in the legal documents, claiming they first met in 2004 when she was 19.

Penly explained she initially consented to sleeping with Carter for a couple of weeks, noting they met up at a Los Angeles apartment to have sex. However, these alleged encounters started to rub her the wrong way because the singer refused to wear a condom.

Carter allegedly denied having any sexually transmitted diseases, repeatedly stressing that he was "clean."

Inside The Alleged Sexual Assault Allegations

Penly recalled meeting with Carter in early 2005, noting she came over but refused to sleep with him. Her refusal allegedly unleashed his darker side, with the singer claiming the only reason he met up with her was for sex.

After dropping the shocking comment, Penly alleged Carter picked her up, threw her onto his bed, and bent her over. She alleged he violated her despite her repeatedly saying "no," nor did he use any protection. Following the abuse, Penly claimed Carter warned her to stay quiet.

The singer allegedly claimed no one would believe her if she reported the crime, but he eventually changed his tune a couple of months later. Penly recalled he was remorseful and apologized for his actions, even inviting her over to make up.

The Alleged Victim Claims She Was Infected With STDs

Penly believed Carter and visited him in L.A., only to be assaulted again. She alleged he forcefully violated her while ignoring her repeated refusals and desperate pleas to stop. The violent encounter left her with several STDs, including HPV.

The alleged victim claimed she also tested positive for chlamydia and gonorrhea and was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which she noted was a consequence of the HPV infection. The aftermath didn't end there, with Penly declaring she had to undergo cancer treatments, including surgery.

Additionally, Carter's assault allegedly caused her severe emotional distress, physical anguish, medical issues, intimacy issues, and other trauma.

On that note, Penly sued the singer for sexual assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress. She demanded compensation for these damages.

Carter's Lawyers Slam The Lawsuit As A Money Grab

Carter's legal reps, Liane K. Wakayama and Dale Hayes Jr., responded to the sexual assault lawsuit in a statement. They implied Penly's allegations came straight out of the extortion playbook. They linked her and her lawyers to those who "abuse the justice system to try to ruin Nick Carter."

"It's drawn from the same predictable playbook – lie in wait for decades until Mr. Carter is celebrating a professional milestone, then hide behind litigation privilege to make utterly false claims in an attempt to inflict maximum damage on Nick and his family," the legal reps said.

They claimed Carter doesn't recall meeting Penly or having a sexual relationship with her. Additionally, they bashed the alleged victim's credibility, claiming she "has a documented history of financial and legal trouble, has filed for bankruptcy, and has been sued for fraud."

As stated, Penly isn't the first woman to accuse Carter of assault. The Blast covered the singer's issues with a woman named Shannon Ruth last year, claiming he accused her of fraud and extortion. In her lawsuit, the alleged victim said he attacked her after a concert in Washington in 2001.

Ruth alleged he forced her to perform oral sex on him in a bus tour bathroom before dragging her to his bed and violating her. She claimed she was a virgin before the encounter and suffered an HPV infection from the assault. However, Carter vehemently denied her allegations.

The singer's legal team attempted to have the lawsuit tossed over Ruth's credibility. They stressed her narrative lacked merit, given her inability to provide details beyond what her legal team had written in her complaint during a deposition.

Carter's accuser reportedly claimed she "did not remember" 146 times and stated she "did not know" on 64 occasions.
