While chatting with Us Weekly about his busy schedule and partnership with Thorne, the young athlete also spoke about his relationship with Rodman.

Although they've officially announced that they're a couple, Shelton still wants to keep certain aspects of his life to himself.

Specifically, he's not interested in double dates, even if it were to be with his friend, Gauff.

"Not the biggest double date guy, to be honest," Shelton said. "More of a normal date guy. But I guess we’ll see. Definitely have a lot of friends who are in long-term relationships, but for it to match up where we’re all in the same place at the same time is unlikely."

In his March 18 photo dump on Instagram, Shelton officially hard launched his relationship with Rodman.

"I been focused, but I'm steady climbin'," he captioned the post. "I'm nowhere near my peak."

The picture of the couple in the elevator showed Rodman kissing Shelton on the cheek.

Gauff commented, "hard launchhhh!!," while Frances Tiafoe wrote, "We gram now."

Later, during his conversation with Us, Shelton said he was sure people would talk about his reveal, but he didn't "think it would be a break the internet type thing."

However, posting the photo of him with Rodman didn't feel out of the ordinary for the Florida resident.

"... I’ve always been like, ‘OK, if I have a serious girlfriend, then posting about it on Instagram isn’t that crazy," he said.

Shelton was also eager to post about his relationship with Rodman, who currently plays professional soccer for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League, because of the press surrounding his dating life.

“I feel like for the past 6 months, whenever I would get seen with somebody, people would think we were dating,” he said. “It’s like, no, we’re just friends. Or if I’d hang out in a group of three and it was a guy and a girl, they’d cut the guy out and make it seem like I was on a date. It’s either gonna be I post about my girlfriend or they post about assuming who my girlfriend is.”

Shelton explained that, given their busy training schedules, they both make "sacrifices " to make their relationship work.

"You gotta make sacrifices sometimes," he explained. "It’s just the life that we live. The lives that we live right now and for the foreseeable future. I think that you have to have two selfless people in a situation like this, and I think we have that."

Since Shelton is always in the gym preparing for his next match, the tennis star uses Thorne's products to keep him up and moving.

According to their site, Thorne is a science-driven wellness company that delivers quality supplements to help people feel "happier and healthier ... at every age and life stage."

Shelton described their partnership as a "great" opportunity for him since it was part of his daily routine before they agreed to work together.

"It wasn’t something where they were like, ‘Hey, let’s do a deal. Let’s make it look like you use the product.’ No, I use it day-to-day. I had already asked my agent to get connected with them because I was buying so much of it," he said.
