In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for "CBB" said Rourke agreed to leave the competition after displaying problematic behavior on more than one occasion.

"Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior," they said.

Days before, Rourke made headlines after he used what many deemed to be "homophobic" language toward another cast mate, JoJo Siwa.

After asking the former "Dance Moms" star about her sexuality, Rourke made a questionable comment that viewers and his fellow competitors found a problem with.

“If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore,” he said.

During a later scene in the show, Rourke had a conversation with a co-star, in which he said he would "vote the lesbian out real quick."

Siwa, who has been in a public relationship with Kath Ebbs and has spoken openly about being part of the LGBTQ+ community, overheard the 72-year-old and slammed him for being "homophobic."

According to NBC News, Rourke made another reckless comment after that, saying, "I need a f-g," a British slang term for a cigarette, and gestured toward Siwa.

In the diary room, the show's producers reprimanded Rourke by issuing him an official warning and told him his language was "offensive and unacceptable."

"I apologize," he said before saying he was just talking "smack." "I don't have dishonorable intentions," he added.
