Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Rekindling Friendship For Their Children's Sake

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's "Bennifer" days are not over, as the duo will reportedly return with a surprise twist!

It has been nearly a year since J.Lo pulled the plug on her short-term marriage to "The Accountant" star. However, the former couple are allegedly returning to the days of their friendship following their highly publicized divorce.

Although they earned the cute nickname "Bennifer" as a couple, fans may return to calling them that if Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez can rekindle their bond.

According to an insider, Affleck and Lopez chose to sort out their differences because of their children. While the pair did not welcome any children during their relationship, their families were blended nonetheless.

The actor welcomed three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, while J.Lo had twins from her union with Marc Anthony. The source claimed Emme, one of Lopez's twins, developed an "especially strong bond" with Affleck's daughter Seraphina "Fin."

Because of this blossoming friendship and the bond between their other children, the former lovebirds "agreed that they have a responsibility to nurture" these relationships for their children's sake.

"If they can't stand to be in the same room as each other, it's going to make that very tough, so they've agreed to do what it takes to get on better terms. Before they got back together, they were genuinely friends, and they'd love to get back to that," the informant told In Touch, adding:

"They're not at a place where they're going to be taking off on joint holidays with the kids, but they have talked about having a nice dinner all together to start with, and then they'll go from there."

Affleck's possible reunion with Lopez follows reports of his blossoming friendship with his ex-wife, Garner. The former spouses were photographed in early March while paintballing with their son, Samuel.

The source noted the outing and the duo's closeness stemmed from their amicable co-parenting bond and not romantic desires. The same sentiments applied to Affleck and J.Lo's friendship, with the insider stressing:

"Ben's an emotional roller-coaster. He's even been reaching out to Jennifer [Lopez] again recently. The two Jennifers are actually friends."

They claimed Garner and Lopez "bonded over coparenting their kids" and were not against each other as the press implied. However, the source noted Affleck might never have the same co-parenting relationship with Lopez as his bond with Garner. The insider explained:

"They don't share three kids. But they are both very sensitive to the fact that J.Lo's twins Max and Emme are very close to Ben's kids."

Last month, The Blast covered Affleck's comments about his divorce from Lopez. He addressed the end of their union in an interview with British GQ, with a source alleging he did so to set the record straight.

"He is so over this divorce and the narrative that he was grumpy and that Jen was a victim," they explained, adding, "It has been a year since he left, and he is hoping that speaking up will stop the constant questions."

"He is ready to focus on what actually matters to him. His career and his family.This gave Ben closure, which is what he needed," the source continued. Affleck allegedly felt compelled to discuss his divorce because Lopez addressed their separation in Interview Magazine last October.

According to the insider, Affleck "never planned to address their divorce because it is a private matter."They noted the actor respected his ex-wife and hoped to keep their differences away from the press. However, how she spoke about him in her interview pushed him to clear the air.

Besides sharing his side of the story, Affleck hoped to dispel the negative attention on their divorce. He did not want their speculated drama to overshadow their careers, especially his joint projects with Lopez.

"He genuinely wants this project to succeed," the source said about the former couple's new musical "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Affleck echoed similar sentiments to the source in his interview.

He labeled his divorce from Lopez as "embarrassing" while reflecting on the pair's reactions to fame. The actor described his personality as "more reserved and private," while J.Lo could handle being a celebrity "more adeptly and more adroitly" than he could.

Affleck implied the duo's varying reactions to the spotlight played a role in their split, saying: "As happens in relationships, you don't always have the same attitude towards these things." Despite his words, he denied all claims of bad blood or drama between the exes.

"There's no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. I guess there's a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something," Affleck explained. "But honestly, like I said, the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting."

"It's just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do," he concluded. Additionally, Affleck noted his positive feelings for J.Lo, citing his respect for her.
