Teddi Mellencamp Wants To Visit Her Grave As Funeral Plans Commence Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp's dad, John Mellencamp, is determined to give his daughter a befitting farewell should things take a drastic turn. 

The reality star revealed her dad has commenced funeral plans to ensure her life is well celebrated if she dies from her ongoing battle with cancer.

Teddi Mellencamp updated her fans about her cancer progression earlier in the month, noting that it is now a stage 4 illness.

In a recent episode of her podcast, "Two T's In A Pod," Teddi shared a rather morbid yet candid conversation with her father. 

She recounted how he called her 11 times in a row, prompting her to finally pick up while she was relaxing in the bath. During the call, he raised the unusual topic of their family mausoleum, expressing a desire to ensure she would be included in it. 

Teddi also reflected on her father's thoughts about accommodating her three children—Slate, Cruz, and Dove, suggesting there would be enough space for them alongside the immediate family.

As the conversation unfolded, Teddi inquired whether she needed to decide on this matter soon, to which her father responded that since she was currently working on her will, she might as well include it.

Teddi humorously agreed to her father's proposition and told her co-host, Tamra Judge, that she would need to visit Indiana to see her grave. She lightheartedly joked about wanting the phrase "hot girls never die" inscribed on her tombstone.

As shared by The Blast, Teddi's challenging battle with melanoma recently worsened when doctors informed her that the cancer had metastasized to her brain and lungs.

On March 26, she shared that she received more devastating news: an emergency MRI revealed four additional small tumors on her brain. Despite her cancer reaching stage 4 and the daunting prognosis, Mellencamp remains positive and determined to fight.

On April 2, she updated her fans via a video on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for their support and highlighting the mixed emotions she experienced.

While she often feels strong, there are days when she feels sad and alone, which she acknowledges as a normal part of dealing with stage 4 cancer. In her words: "Stage 4 cancer can be scary."

Numerous reactions trailed Teddi's announcement. In the heat of the moment, Mellencamp addressed a comment from a fan on social media regarding her stage 4 melanoma diagnosis.

The fan had expressed concern about the low survival rate of the cancer, highlighting the terminal nature of such a diagnosis, especially with metastasis. Although the fan's intention was to be supportive, Teddi found the comment distressing.

She shared the comment on her Instagram Stories, voicing her sadness. The reality star emphasized that while she is aware of the statistics, she firmly believes she will overcome the illness.

Teddi further expressed her hope to witness her children graduate and mentioned her plans to continue being her lively self, even if it means causing a bit of annoyance to her family and friends.

Teddi has received immense support from her father, John, during her battle with multiple brain tumors following her recent surgery, The Blast previously reported. 

Despite their past estrangement, John has stepped up to be a source of strength for his daughter. Since beginning her health journey, he has been consistently by her side, demonstrating his commitment and love.

A source has described John as a "super dad," highlighting how he immediately rushed to support her in her time of need. His presence has been vital as Teddi navigates this challenging situation while caring for her three children.

Her father is deeply committed to providing Teddi with the best care possible during her recovery. While he wished he could take away her suffering, his main priority is to be a comforting presence by her side.

John, at 73, is reportedly deeply emotional about his daughter's health, referring to her as his "baby girl" despite her being a mother herself. 

He reportedly strives to remain a steady source of support for Teddi, even as he feels the weight of her suffering. Before her major surgery, he faced understandable fear but kept an upbeat demeanor, reassuring her that everything would be fine. 

Witnessing Teddi endure significant pain after her surgery has also been hard for him. In her first podcast episode since the operation, Teddi shared her journey, highlighting her father's immense support as a vital source of encouragement during her painful experience.
