Wendy Williams' Guardian Grounds Dinner Plans With Niece After Kidnapping Accusation

Wendy Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, is not letting her niece have her way again!

The former talk show host's guardian reportedly truncated her plans of stepping out to spend quality time with her niece and attorney.

Wendy Williams' niece, Alex Finnie, had previously been accused of attempting to kidnap the star by the Manhattan assisted living facility back in March.

Williams' guardian, Morrissey, recently blocked the former TV star from attending a planned dinner with her niece, Finnie, and her new attorney, Joe Tacopina. This latest development occurs despite previous claims that Williams could freely visit with family.

Sources indicate that Morrissey prohibited her from leaving her assisted living facility, which Williams has referred to as "a luxury prison." This decision contradicts a recent letter from Morrissey's lawyer proclaiming that the star was not being restricted from seeing her family. 

Per TMZ, the reasons behind the denial of this outing remain unclear, but it appears to be linked to Williams' desire to terminate the guardianship. 

If the judge does not address her request soon, the star may push for a jury trial, with Tacopina representing her, positioning him against her guardian, Morrissey.

The saga surrounding Williams and her fight for independence unfolds, with a new twist involving her niece. The Blast noted that a police complaint was filed against Finnie by the facility where Williams has been residing for the past eight months.

Reports alleged that Finnie accompanied her aunt for a psychological evaluation and later took her to an Italian restaurant for dinner. 

However, during their outing, the facility alerted the New York Police Department, accusing Finnie of "evading staff" by taking Williams out of the building without permission.

When the former TV star and her niece returned from dinner, they exchanged words with photographers before re-entering the facility. 

Finnie revealed that there had been a situation where the police were allegedly called by the Coterie, claiming that she had taken her aunt without proper authorization.

Williams expressed disbelief at the unfolding drama, pointing out the oddity of the Coterie's concerns over their dinner outing, especially since her guardian had previously stated that she had no movement restrictions and could have family visits.

The 60-year-old television personality also argued that this incident highlights her guardian's dishonesty and further affirms her dissatisfaction with the treatment she was receiving at the facility.

Williams and her niece were left bewildered by the decision of the facility to accuse Finnie of illegally removing her from the premises.

According to existing protocol in the facility, no member, including Williams, is permitted to leave the fifth floor of the memory unit without an attendant to assist her.

However, inside sources disclosed that an attendant did accompany Williams and her niece, Finnie, to the lobby and even helped them into their Uber. 

Furthermore, news outlets also obtained a letter from the lawyer of Williams' guardian Morrissey, asserting that Williams is free to come and go as she pleases and that there are no limitations on family visits. 

This revelation casts doubt on the facility's decision to file a complaint against Finnie, which has left both Williams and her supporters confused about the facility's credibility.

These days, Williams is holding on to hope as she navigates another challenge in her pursuit of independence. 

The Blast shared in March that the former talk show host is currently awaiting a new cognitive evaluation, an essential step in her ongoing court-ordered guardianship situation. 

Despite the frustration and delays involved in the process, she reportedly remains optimistic and is encouraged by the support she receives from her fans and family.

While her court-appointed guardian has some control over the timing of the evaluation, sources indicate that Williams has been advised to be patient. Nonetheless, she is determined and committed to regaining control over her life. 

Reports suggest that while Morrissey doubts the evaluation will change Williams' diagnosis, the support from her circle has energized Williams' fight for independence.
