Footage of Russell Brand from his 2011 film "Arthur" may serve as evidence in connection to a sexual assault allegation on set.
This comes as it was reported that the comedian fears he could face criminal charges in the U.S. over accusations that he sexually assaulted a female crew member in a lavatory during filming and exposed himself to cast members.
Now, Warner Bros. Discovery has offered to turn over hours of unseen outtake footage from "Arthur" during a hearing in the case, where the studio is also named as a defendant.
The Studio Offered To Hand Over Hours Of Outtakes Footage

Brand's legal troubles continue to mount as Warner Bros. has now offered to hand over outtakes from his movie Arthur as potential evidence in his ongoing NYC sexual assault case.
According to The Times, in a recent hearing at a New York Supreme Court, the studio's attorney, Patrick Lamparello, revealed that they have "some hours of video outtake footage… four or five hours, it could be more, around eight," which they are willing to turn over.
Although it remains unclear what the footage may contain, Brand is being accused by Jane Doe of exposing himself to cast members before sexually assaulting her in a lavatory. The outtakes could have potentially captured something incriminating.
The Comedian Fears He Would Face Charges In The U.S.

According to the New York Post, Brand worries he would face charges in the U.S. after he was hit with five sex crimes charges in the U.K. after a lengthy investigation into his past affairs.
His attorneys had tried to delay the civil suit, which was filed by Jane Doe in 2023, fearing it could "overlap" with his criminal probe in the U.K.
In an April 1 filing, Brand's attorneys noted, "The fact that Mr. Brand is already facing a criminal investigation in the United Kingdom — coupled with highly publicized allegations that have been made (both by this Plaintiff and others) that Mr. Brand committed similar sexual assaults in the United States — is more than sufficient to support a 'reasonable belief' that he could face prosecution here."
They added that the actor didn't want to say anything that might incriminate him in his legal issues in the U.K.
The NYC judge has, however, denied Brand's attorney's request to delay the civil suit.
Russell Brand Is Facing Sex Crimes Charges In The U.K.

In the U.K., Brand is charged with rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault related to accusations from four women.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges on Friday, April 4, in a press release on their website.
The statement also further detailed the time of the incidents that led to the charges, showing a timeline between 1999 and 2005.
"In 1999 a woman was raped in the Bournemouth area. In 2001 a woman was indecently assaulted in the Westminster area of London. In 2004 a woman was orally raped and sexually assaulted in the Westminster area of London. Between 2004 and 2005, a woman was sexually assaulted in the Westminster area of London," the statement read.
The authorities also requested that anyone who has been "affected by this case by this case, or anyone who has any information, to come forward."
Following the charges, Brand is set to appear in court for his first hearing on May 2.
Russell Brand Has Denied The Allegations

In response to the charges, Brand took to his Instagram page to deny the accusations in a lengthy video statement.
"We're very fortunate in a way to live in a time where there's so little trust in the British government," he began. "We're very fortunate, I suppose, that this is happening at a time where we know that the law has become a kind of weapon to be used against people."
The comedian went on to acknowledge that he lived waywardly in the past, describing his former self as a "fool," a "drug and sex addict," and even an "imbecile." However, he denied being a "rapist," as alleged by the charges filed against him.
"I've never engaged in nonconsensual activity, I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes," the actor added.
He also mentioned that he felt "grateful" for the opportunity to argue his innocence in court when the trial began.
Why The Comedian Was Investigated By The U.K. Police

The British police launched an investigation into Russell Brand's past conduct in September 2023, following an inquiry by The Sunday Times, The Times of London, and TV network Channel 4 into some allegations against him.
The result of the inquiry revealed that Brand had allegedly sexually assaulted and raped four women between the years of 2006 and 2013.
One of the women, Nadia, told the Daily Mail that Brand had raped her at his Los Angeles residence on the morning of July 1, 2012. She claimed that on that day, Brand had suggested she participate in sexual activities with him and a friend who was waiting in his bedroom. However, when she declined his offer and attempted to leave, he proceeded to rape her against a wall without a condom.
Another woman claimed that the controversial comedian assaulted her when she was 16, and they were in an emotionally abusive relationship. Russell was reportedly in his early 30s at the time.
At the time, Brand also denied those accusations, saying he was "very, very promiscuous in his past," but it was "absolutely always consensual.
