Kilmer was a man of many talents before his death, gaining fame as an actor on stage and in movies. Besides his TV career, the entertainer made waves as an artist and showcased his work on his eponymous website and social media.

The "Top Gun: Maverick" star flaunted two of his most recent artworks on Instagram before his passing. The first shared on March 16 featured a colorful abstract painting with a blend of pink, blue, and black hues. The visually striking piece created a fiery yet somber mood with its bold colors.

The painting featured a dark, amorphous shape at the bottom with a burst of blue and pink hues emerging from it. This Image was set on a purple background with Kilmer's signature visible in the lower right corner, written in red paint. He advertised the painting's sake in the caption, writing:

"Some art hums like a power chord-loud, untamed, and unforgettable. If this one strikes the right note for you, grab one of the 10 available."

The second artwork featured a similar abstract painting depicting what appeared to be a campfire. Kilmer captioned the March 22 post:

"It's got that late-night glow. Cool tones with a low burn, like when the campfire cools down, but you're still wide awake. 12' x 20' plexi-glazed, signed, and ready to hang. ValKilmer.com."

The 'Top Gun' Star Embodied His 'Batman' Character Five Weeks Before His Passing

Although Kilmer flaunted his artworks in March, his eerie connection to Perry's final social media activities stemmed from another post. On February 23, the 1995 "Batman Forever" star gave fans a final glimpse at the iconic character in a joint Instagram post with world-renowned artist David Choe.

The clip captured him with Choe alongside a painting of Batman, presumably made by the famous artist. "I'm ready. I have an angle for us. It's been a while," Kilmer said as he wore a black-and-white Batman mask. He brought the camera closer to flaunt his appearance, with Choe assuring him the mask fit.

The post also showcased Choe's love for Batman with several Batman paintings and a video of what appeared to be the young artist playing with Batman toys and embodying the beloved vigilante hero.

The last time Kilmer showed his face on Instagram before his passing was when he donned the Batman mask for Choe. Likewise, Perry was last seen physically on the platform in the Batman-inspired post he shared days before his death on October 23, 2023.

In the post, Perry relaxed in a rooftop hot tub. He enjoyed the night with music blasting through his headphones and seemed at peace in the picture, which he captioned:

"Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman."

This post marked one of six Batman-inspired posts that the "Friends" star dropped in his final days. The Blast covered the story, reporting that Perry started his "Mattman" updates after watching Robert Pattinson's "The Batman" movie.

The same day as the hot tub post, he shared a Jack-o'-lantern with the Batman symbol carved into it.

As stated, the Hollywood veteran took his final breath at 65 on Tuesday, April 1, with The Blast reporting his cause of death was pneumonia. The actor's daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed the tragic news to sources.

Kilmer's life, particularly his rise to fame and personal relationships, were explored in the 2021 documentary "Val." The entertainer's two children served as associate producers, with his son Jack as the show's narrator.

The late actor began his career on stage before making his film debut in the 1984 Cold War spoof "Top Secret!" where he played a charismatic American singer in Berlin who became embroiled in an East German plan for reunification.

Unlike the eerie connection between Val Kilmer and Matthew Perry's final physical posts on Instagram, the latter died from the acute effects of ketamine use. May their souls rest in peace.
