His unexplained exit sparked controversy online, with many viewers slamming him as a "petty loser" and "tone-deaf."

Over the weekend, singer Morgan Wallen caused a stir after abruptly leaving the stage during the closing credits of "Saturday Night Live," per the New York Post.

Wallen, who was dressed in light blue jeans, a white inner shirt, and a slightly oversized blue long-sleeve outer shirt, appeared to be impatiently waiting for the show to end so he could leave.

Subsequently, the 31-year-old posted a photo of a private plane on his Instagram Story, captioning it, "Get me to God's country," seemingly implying that it was his ride back home.

Fans Slam The Singer Over His Actions

On social media, Wallen was hit by a flurry of backlash over his decision to leave the "SNL" stage during the closing credits.

An X user commented, "Morgan Wallen with a little more of the catty-a-s petty loser sh-t he so proudly displayed running offstage down the center aisle & right past the camera at SNL curtain call…This & the tone-deaf private jet flaunt couldn't be more lame & undercutting coming from a country star."

Another wrote, "And if he didn't wanna be there so bad, he should've turned it down. Anything for a little publicity, eh?"

Someone else commented, "Morgan Wallen proving once again he has ZERO self control and is a little b-tch storming off the stage before the credits even rolled. Hope the tantrum was worth it because you'll NEVER be on #SNL again."

In the wake of the backlash, a source close to Wallen claimed that the singer's exit was not intentional but rather a mistake, which was also evident during the practice session.

The insider told TMZ that the country music star "entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show."

As such, "he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time" to leave the stage.

In the meantime, the singer has yet to make any remarks about the controversy he has stirred.

In 2021, Wallen was caught on video using the N-word, an action that almost got him canceled in the music industry.

At the time, the country music star came under heavy backlash as he seemingly got blacklisted from various music events.

During an interview with Billboard two years later, he revealed that he apologized for his actions and "never made an excuse."

"There's no excuse. I've never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse," Wallen told the publication at the time.

Wallen shared that he met with several Black music industry leaders and organizations, where he gained a deeper understanding of his mistakes.

"I've talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn't the one going through it," the singer added.

He continued, "And I think, for me, in my heart, I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, 'Damn, I'm kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn't have said this, but I'm really not that guy.'"
