"All My Children" and "NYPD Blue" star Kim Delaney was arrested on Saturday following what authorities described as a “heated argument that turned physical” between the actress and her partner, James Morgan.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that police responded to a domestic disturbance call at Kim Delaney’s residence around 10 a.m.

According to TMZ, paramedics arrived on the scene to evaluate both the Primetime Emmy winner and Morgan for injuries. After being medically cleared, the pair were taken into custody.

When contacted for comment, the LASD referred PEOPLE Magazine to its Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station. A spokesperson for the station confirmed that Delaney was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, while Morgan was taken into custody for domestic violence.

As of March 30, both the "All My Children" star and Morgan remained in custody, according to the station.

Delaney And Morgan Scheduled To Appear In Court On April 1 After Domestic Arrests

Her next court appearance is set for Tuesday, April 1. According to the LASD website, Morgan was arrested roughly 30 minutes before Delaney, with bail set at $20,000. He is also scheduled to appear in court on April 1.

Delaney, a Daytime Emmy-winning actress known for portraying Jenny Gardner on "All My Children" and Detective Diane Russell on "NYPD Blue," has faced a series of legal and personal issues in recent years, many of which involved alcohol-related incidents.

Venice Boulevard Crash Turns Into Civil Suit

In January 2024, the "All My Children" star was sued by motorcyclist Dzhamal Badalov over a November 2022 traffic incident. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Delaney was allegedly driving erratically down Venice Boulevard before colliding with Badalov’s motorcycle as he sat at a red light.

Witnesses claimed she attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders.

Badalov alleged that Delaney appeared disoriented and may have been under the influence. He also claimed she handed him her phone to speak with an unknown individual who offered him money in exchange for not calling the police.

The "NYPD Blue" star ultimately left the scene before officers could respond, leading to a civil lawsuit.

In April 2024, Delaney was ordered to complete 50 hours of community service and attend the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) program in connection with the 2022 incident. Per Daily Mail, RadarOnline reported that she was also barred from operating a vehicle without a valid license and proof of insurance.

Delaney’s troubles stretch back decades.

In 2002, she was arrested in Malibu for suspicion of DUI after refusing a breathalyzer test. She pleaded no contest, was fined, and received two years of probation along with a mandatory DUI course. In 2003, she reportedly entered a rehabilitation facility following her departure from "CSI: Miami."

Her struggles with alcohol came to a head in 2005 when she lost custody of her then-15-year-old son, Jack Cortese. In court, Cortese testified that Delaney endangered him by driving under the influence, and alleged it wasn’t an isolated incident.

In another high-profile moment, the "All My Children" and "NYPD Blue" star was pulled off stage during a 2011 event honoring former Defense Secretary Robert Gates after delivering a slurred and incoherent speech. The following year, she told reporters she “wasn’t feeling great” and blamed the situation on “technical problems,” without acknowledging any substance use.

Despite her personal challenges, Delaney maintained a successful television career. In addition to her soap opera roots and her critically acclaimed work on "NYPD Blue," she starred in "Army Wives" for six seasons and appeared in series like "Philly" and "CSI: Miami."

Born in Philadelphia, Delaney began her career as a model before transitioning to acting. She earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination in 1983 and went on to win a Primetime Emmy for her role on "NYPD Blue."
