By Jacquez Printup on March 29, 2025 at 1:30 PM EDT
Angel Reese was more than excited for her former LSU teammates when they defeated the NC State Wolfpack in the NCAA Tournament, also known as March Madness.
In a shady post to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Angel Reese was quick to support the LSU Tigers after winning 80-73. She also didn't waste time clapping back at NC State and their head coach, Wes Moore, for disrespecting her earlier in the season.

Reese was quick to support her alma mater following their epic comeback against the NC State Wolfpack on March 28, 2025.
LSU trailed NC State by five points with less than five minutes in the fourth quarter. However, Kim Mulkey and the Tigers found a way to pull out the win, finishing the game on a 12-2 run.
Aneesah Morrow, the nation's leading rebounder, scored her 30th double-double of the season after finishing the game with 30 points, 19 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
On X, Reese, who is gearing up for her second season in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky, showered Morrow and the rest of the ladies with love and also threw some light shade in the process.
"Oh, [and] that win was personal. THANK YA," she wrote, followed by emojis of a camera, a finger pointing, and a face throwing up.
Why Was LSU's Win 'Personal' For Angel Reese?

It's no secret that Reese gets a severe amount of unwarranted pushback online. Following her team's win over Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 NCAA Championship, the 22-year-old has become a massive target for online hate.
Sometimes, though, the negativity makes its way to the real world, too, and Reese saw that firsthand with NC State's head coach, Moore.
In February 2025, a photo of Moore standing and smiling next to an NC State fan with a sign that read, "Angel Reese stinks," went viral.
The photo rubbed many the wrong way, considering Reese had been out of the NCAA for nearly a year.

Although Reese didn't mention explicitly what she was referring to in her post, many believe it's clear she was pointing to the Moore photo.
"Go against AR [and] it will cost ya," one user wrote on X. "F-CK WES MOORE!"
Another user chimed in and blasted Moore for "tanking" NC State's "reputation."
"All [of] his girls are so likable," they wrote.
A third user also defended Reese and declared that the "basketball gods don't play" about the Baltimore native.
"When are they gonna learn you're one of God's favorite children, and they can't keep playing with you," a fourth fan posted.
More Fans Defend Reese Against The Media
Angel Reese getting hate for just going to watch her brother play is crazy. Some of you need hobbies or something

Reese received more support from basketball fans earlier in the week after the podcast host was blasted by critics while attending Maryland's game against the Florida Gators.
CBS Sports posted a clip of the rising star, who sat in the audience with her mother to support her younger brother, Julian Reese, on their X page.
Shortly after, when Maryland was down to Florida by 16, they shared another clip of Reese looking frustrated. "Angel Reese does not appear pleased," they captioned the post.
Of course, Reese received hate; however, several users began defending the 6'3" power-forward after realizing she was being used for engagement.
"Journalism is in the toilet," someone commented.
"If she was smiling [with] her brother's team losing in his final collegiate game, y'all would say she's weird," another posted. "Leave her [the f-ck] alone. Of course, she's not happy [that] his team is out."
"Thank you for stating the obvious," a third user wrote. "Groundbreaking journalism."
Other users criticized members of the media for fueling "the foolishness towards Angel Reese."
"She's literally minding her business watching her brother play. No need to post her every [five minutes]," a netizen shared.
"Angel Reese getting hate for just going to watch her brother play is crazy. Some of you need hobbies or something," another said.
Reese Was Unrivaled’s DPOY

During the WNBA's off-season, Reese, along with several other professional basketball players, joined Unrivaled, an "innovative 3x3 league ... setting a record with the highest average salaries in women's sports history."
Not only did her team win the league's first championship title, but Reese was also named the season's Defensive Player of the Year.
In a press release sent to The Blast, Reese earned the honor after receiving the "most combined weighted votes from Unrivaled players and coaches, as well as a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters."
