Selena Gomez is already locking in roles for her upcoming wedding, and she’s calling on her "Only Murders in the Building" co-star Martin Short to deliver one of the most important ones.

During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" Thursday, Selena Gomez shared that Short is officially on deck to give a speech when she ties the knot with fiancé Benny Blanco.

“Marty is due to give a speech,” Gomez said, adding, “I told him he must … I feel like Marty would have an epic speech.”

She went on to joke that their other "Only Murders" co-star Steve Martin would probably join the festivities in his own way and “probably pull out his banjo” and give a musical performance.

When Barrymore floated the idea of having the comedic duo actually officiate the ceremony, Gomez seemed caught off guard. “Oh my gosh! I hadn’t even thought about that,” she said.

Gomez confirmed her engagement to Blanco in December 2024 after the couple went public with their romance in late 2023.

She shared photos from the proposal on Instagram at the time, captioning the carousel with “forever begins now.” The images featured the singer wearing a giant marquise diamond ring, which Page Six reported Blanco began designing earlier that year.

Speaking on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last week, Gomez detailed the proposal and confessed she was feeling less than thrilled the day it all went down. Blanco had asked her to visit the set where they were working on their joint album "I Said I Love You First," and Gomez recalled being confused and exhausted.

“I woke up and was very confused on what was happening or where we were going because it seemed kind of far. I was kind of a little grumpy [and] really tired,” she said. She even told Blanco she wanted to “go hang out with [her] friends” after the session.

But despite the rocky start to the day, the proposal “went off without a hitch,” and the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star said she “freaked out” in the best way.

As for the wedding itself, Gomez noted they haven’t finalized any plans just yet and are in no rush. “We haven’t figured anything out,” she said, aside from that epic Martin Short speech, of course.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, longtime collaborators turned real-life couple, have officially launched their creative partnership into full-blown album territory.

Last Friday, March 21, the duo released their first full-length project together, "I Said I Love You First," a 14-track pop set that blends heartfelt songwriting with Blanco’s signature genre-shifting production.

The album arrives just months after the couple announced their engagement in December 2024, capping off a whirlwind rollout with the highly anticipated release. Though it marks their first complete project as a duo, the pair have been sporadically collaborating behind the scenes for nearly a decade.

Now, they’re stepping into the spotlight together,  and they’ve brought an impressive lineup of guests along for the ride.

"I Said I Love You First" features vocal and production contributions solely from Gomez and Blanco, but the list of collaborators is stacked.

Gracie Abrams lends her voice to “Call Me When You Break Up,” which made an early splash on the Billboard Hot 100. J Balvin, GloRilla, and The Marías also appear, while behind-the-scenes talents like Finneas, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Dylan Brady (of 100 Gecs), and Cashmere Cat contribute to the album’s sonic landscape.

Charli XCX co-wrote and provided background vocals for the track “Bluest Flame,” echoing her previous work with Gomez on the 2015 hit “Same Old Love.”

In true pop star fashion, Gomez and Blanco are supporting the album with a massive array of physical and digital options. Fans can choose from seven vinyl variants, including multiple color options, alternate covers, and a signed version sold through Gomez’s official store, as well as three CD editions (standard, signed, and a special Zine/CD combo with expanded packaging).

There’s also a deluxe box set that includes branded merch alongside a copy of the CD.
