Bear Brown has broken his silence to clarify reports surrounding the status of "Alaskan Bush People."

The reality TV star updated his fans on where the show truly stands amid speculations of cancellation by the streaming network Discovery Channel.

"Alaskan Bush People" last aired its season 14 finale in December 2022, with the series raking in over a million views from 2014 to 2022.

Bear Brown Insists The Show Merely Went On A Break, Not Canceled

Bear recently addressed rumors about the show's cancellation in an Instagram video on March 26. He clarified that while the show is on hiatus and not filming, it has not been officially canceled.

Bear emphasized that there has been no formal announcement from Discovery stating that the series is canceled, as the network typically makes such announcements when needed.

He attributed the show's hiatus to the aftermath of a significant merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc., explaining that the network is still organizing its programming.

The reality star noted that while some shows have indeedbeen canceled, Alaskan Bush People is merely on hold and not permanently off the air.

"So, some shows have been canceled, and some shows have been put on the back burner. 'Alaskan Bush People' has been put on the back burner. And it is not technically canceled," he explained.

He expressed appreciation for the show's loyal fans, ensuring they deserve to know the truth about its status.

The Show Was Referenced In Past Tense In An Ongoing $500,000 Legal Tussle Over Billy Brown's Estate

Bear's video was released just a few weeks after The U.S. Sun reported that filming for future "Alaskan Bush People" episodes had halted. This decision comes from an ongoing lawsuit involving a significant financial dispute amounting to $500,000.

Billy's wife, Amora "Ami" Brown, reportedly used language suggesting that the reality show had ended in her April 2024 testimony.

"Testimony acknowledging that the show Alaskan Bush People ultimately had 14 seasons, with the last season being filmed in 2022," the court documents read, according to the outlet.

Amora was listed among the defendants in the lawsuit, which references "Alaskan Bush People" predominantly in the past tense, suggesting a definitive conclusion to the show's relevance.

'Alaskan Bush People' Was Absent On Discovery Channel's Media Page

Using past tense, the lawsuit highlighted the substantial profits generated by Alaskan Wilderness Family Productions. The words read:

"These breaches occurred despite the significant profits generated by [Alaskan Wilderness Family Productions], particularly through the television series 'Alaskan Bush People,' which was featured on the Discovery Channel network."

However, the show is notably absent from the Discovery Channel's media page, which lists other programs like "Naked and Afraid" and "Gold Rush" as current properties.

Furthermore, since September 2022, the network has not provided any updates regarding "Alaskan Bush People," further implying its status as a concluded series.

As previously reported by The Blast, on his 35th birthday, Bear felt grateful and chose to celebrate with his two favorite people. He shared his joy with fans on Instagram, marking this special milestone while revealing his plans for the day. Brown exclaimed in his social media post:

"Today is my 35th birthday! Three and a half decades, where does the time go? I feel blessed, to still be healthy and alive, but most of all I feel blessed to have Raiven and River with me and to be expecting another baby and to have my ever-growing family! No complaints! God has truly blessed me!"[sic].

Along with his message, Bear included a photo of his wife, Raiven, and their baby, River. The trio apparently went to a county fair near their Washington Cascade Mountains home.

In May 2022, the couple shared that they were expecting another child. Bear expressed his excitement on social media, declaring that becoming a dad has been one of the greatest moments of his life.

He noted that while it was still early in the pregnancy, they were hopeful for a healthy baby and eager to welcome another little one into their family.
