DeAnna Pappas levels a weighty allegation of assault against her estranged husband, Stephen Stagliano.

The former reality star has accused her ex-husband of unleashing physical violence on her multiple times during their marriage to each other in her request for a restraining order against him.

DeAnna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano dissolved their marriage in June 2024 after being together for over a decade. The estranged couple met for the first time at a Bachelor Nation event in 2009.

The former star of "Bachelorette" claimed Stagliano unleashed physical assault against her during their lengthy marriage. This allegation emerged as part of her petition for a restraining order against him.

Her request reportedly followed a confrontation at her Los Angeles home during a custody exchange. The couple, who married in 2011 and separated in January 2023, have faced challenges related to Stagliano's mental health.

Pappas recalled instances where he was placed under a 5150 hold, which allows for temporary involuntary psychiatric commitment, according to California laws.

In her petition, Pappas emphasized that her claims were not intended to disparage Stagliano. Instead, they were meant to acknowledge his struggles with depression. She also explained that she believes he is a good father and their children deeply love him.

Per In Touch, the former TV star called for a realistic assessment of their situation, acknowledging the complexities involved in their relationship and his capabilities as a parent.

The former TV personality reported a series of incidents involving physical abuse by her former lover, beginning with an alleged assault at their home in the fall of 2022.

During this confrontation, she described Stagliano's aggressive behavior, claiming he screamed at her and referred to her as a "crazy b-tch." The 43-year-old stated that his reaction to her response triggered a "violent rage," leading to a physical altercation.

She claimed he shoved her against the refrigerator, pinning her there and tearing her shirt and bra in the process. Pappas described feeling trapped and terrified as he screamed at her before she managed to push him away.

In her petition for legal action, Pappas recounted another distressing episode that occurred shortly after, in which Stagliano blocked her exit in a laundry room and shouted at her for several minutes, effectively holding her hostage.

She also detailed a separate incident from September 1, 2021, while living with her ex's parents, when he physically assaulted her in the living room. She noted that he hurled derogatory names at her and, without any warning, violently shoved her against bar stools, causing her pain.

Additionally, the former reality star indicated that during a past incident in 2016, while she was pregnant and holding their other child, Stagliano shoved her. These accounts illustrate a pattern of intimidation and physical aggression that the former reality star has faced from her estranged husband over the years.

Pappas Was Arrested After Stagliano Called The Police On Claims Of Physical Assault

Pappas was arrested on February 27, 2025, following accusations from Stagliano, citing a case of domestic violence, which she firmly denied.

The mother-of-two claimed he alleged that she had punched and slapped him. Pappas reported that Stagliano had insisted she come close so he could check if she had been drinking, a request she refused.

After retreating inside her home and locking the door, she stepped outside again upon hearing the noise from her garage.  She alleged that her ex then physically grabbed her and forcefully shoved her, prompting her to panic and return inside to wait for the police.

Her ex-husband ultimately called the police, resulting in the TV star's arrest on misdemeanor charges. She was released within a few hours after posting a $20,000 bond.

Following her release, Pappas claimed she voluntarily took a drug and alcohol test, which resulted in a negative for both substances. Shortly after, she filed for a restraining order against her ex, who has not yet responded. 

In her petition, she included screenshots of a video she confirmed that her daughter had recorded during the incident, claiming it would prove her innocence.

The Reality TV Star's Neighbor Cleared Her Name With An Eyewitness Account

As noted by The Blast, Pappas submitted a declaration from her neighbor, Alex Ingram, to support her case requesting a restraining order against her ex. The Georgian-born TV star also included photos taken by their daughter during the argument.

Ingram's statement reveals that he witnessed events unfold from his home. He mentioned that his wife asked him to go outside upon spotting the police. 

According to him, the reality star was taken to the back of a patrol car while her estranged husband stood with his father and girlfriend nearby. Ingram recounted his brief interaction with Stagliano, where he expressed that "The Bachelor" star's behavior was inappropriate and shameful.

Pappas' neighbor noted that there were no visible injuries on her estranged husband, who appeared calm and composed, contradicting the accusations of an attack from Stagliano.

Pappas and Stagliano settled their contentious divorce with some strong terms and conditions. The process began in January 2023 and saw the reality TV star seek primary custody of their children and spousal support.

In response to Pappas' demands, Stagliano also requested joint custody of the kids. By 2024, the couple reached a settlement establishing joint custody of their two children.

As part of their agreement, they pledged to limit alcohol consumption during custody periods, ensuring that neither would drink beyond the legal limit while caring for their children.

Additionally, the settlement included a financial arrangement where Stagliano was ordered to pay Pappas $1,000 per month in child support and $1,500 per month in spousal support.
