Dave Portnoy Rips Tiger Woods For Requesting 'Privacy' While Dating A Trump: 'Ridiculous'

Dave Portnoy has slammed Tiger Woods after the golf legend went public on his romance with Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.

Woods noted that he and Vanessa would "appreciate privacy" for themselves and their loved ones as they journey together, but Portnoy thinks it's "ridiculous" of him.

Tiger Woods also reportedly called his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, about his new romance, but details of their call suggest it was an awkward conversation.

Portnoy sternly frowned at Woods over his request for "privacy" while revealing his new relationship with President Donald Trump's ex-daughter-in-law, Vanessa.

Woods and Vanessa went public with their relationship on Sunday night when the golf legend shared two photos of them looking cozy on his X account.

"Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts," Woods wrote in the caption.

His request for "privacy" seemingly annoyed Portnoy, who quoted the post, writing, "Tiger asking for privacy for dating Don Jr.'s wife is an all-time ridiculous request."

Several fans also took to the comment section of Woods's post to share their reaction to his new romance, with many seeing reason with what Portnoy said.

"I love Tiger. One of my lifetime sports heroes. But posting this…and then asking for privacy… only guarantees the opposite will happen. He knows this. So why do it?" an X user wrote.

"You ask for privacy while posting to your 6 million followers," another person noted.

"I'm no expert, but wouldn't privacy come easier if you don't post to 6 million followers?" a fan commented.

Meanwhile, other fans shared their excitement for the Sport star's new romance with Vanessa.

According to the Daily Mail, Woods and Vanessa started dating since Thanksgiving as sources confirmed they were an item long before going public with their romance.

The couple live 20 minutes apart from each other in the wealthy southern Florida enclave of Palm Beach and were spotted together at a golf tournament last month.

Vanessa was previously married to Donald Trump Jr., with whom she shares five children. Woods, on the other hand, shares son Charlie and daughter Sam with ex-wife Nordegren.

According to the news outlet, Vanessa's eldest daughter, Kai, and Woods' children all attend the $38,595-a-year school, The Benjamin School, together.

It was seemingly an uncomfortable experience for Woods as he dialed his ex-wife to tell her about his new relationship with Vanessa.

According to the Daily Mail, the 49-year-old golfing star called Nordegren around late December or early January to tell her of his tryst with Vanessa over fears it'll leak.

"Tiger knew it was going to get out eventually, so he had to make the phone call to Elin before his love life ended up in the newspapers again," a close source told the news outlet. "He's made this call before about other women — but never like this."

However, their conversation seemingly turned awkward, but civil and only lasted a few minutes.

"It was a pleasant, almost friendly conversation," the insider said. "Tiger and Elin are supportive of each other."

The source went further to add that Nordegren saw the humor in Woods dating the president's former daughter-in-law, even though he claimed their romance was not serious at the time.

"Her response at first was like, 'Seriously? A Trump? For real?'" the insider shared. "She was more amused than anything. But she really quickly just accepted it."

"They're not the type to give each other their 'blessing' per se, but they keep each other in the loop with anyone who is going to spend any amount of time around the kids," the source added.
