Ellen DeGeneres may be gone for good as one of her last properties in the U.S. has sold days after she put it on the market.
The comedian and her wife, Portia de Rossi, seemingly cut ties with the country and relocated to the U.K. after President Donald Trump's 2024 election victory.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's stay across the pond hasn't been a smooth ride after floodwaters surrounded their property after a lengthy rainfall.
Ellen DeGeneres Sells One Of Her Last U.S. Properties

DeGeneres and her wife relocated across the pond to seek a fresh start following a toxic workplace scandal that rocked her Hollywood career and Trump's 2024 election win.
The couple listed their two-bedroom, two-bathroom Montecito mansion on March 10 for $5 million, just over four years after they bought it for $2.9 million.
According to People Magazine, the 1,691-square-foot Spanish bungalow has now been sold for $5.2 million.
The news outlet reports that the property went into escrow on March 20 after receiving "multiple offers within two days of hitting the market."
The California abode's private primary suite boasts its "own patio, spa-like bath, and generous closet space." Also, it features a simple but spacious kitchen with wooden cupboards and solid grey worktops with fitted appliances.
According to Realtor.com: "A sound fence ensures privacy and serenity, while the spacious backyard offers room for a pool or guest house all within moments of the beach, Coral Casino, and Lower Village."
Why The Comedian And Her Wife Relocated

After news of DeGeneres's decision to relocate abroad became public knowledge, a source told the Daily Mail that it was her looking to retire from Hollywood following a toxic workplace scandal that affected her talk show career.
In a 2020 BuzzFeed News investigation, former staff accused the comedian of fostering a toxic workplace culture on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," as well as claims of racism, sexual misconduct, and intimidation.
Reports had earlier suggested that the move was a response to President Donald Trump's emergence as the winner in the November elections, but an insider confirmed that they'd planned to move before the elections for DeGeneres to kick off her "retirement."
"Make no mistake about it. This is Ellen and Portia's retirement," the source shared. "Neither one of them has any projects lined up."
"Ellen really felt she had made her mark on the industry, but that was diminished when she was canceled over her alleged treatment of her staff," the source added. "Then to have celebrities call her out one by one was so hurtful."
Ellen DeGeneres' U.K. Home Was Affected By Flood

Shortly after settling in the Cotswolds area, their $15 million home was affected by flood waters after prolonged rainfall that hit the area for weeks and made a nearby river burst its banks.
While DeGeneres and de Rossi's property wasn't directly flooded, the surrounding properties were.
The couple also had troubles with their neighbors after seemingly committing a "technical breach" in an attempt to build a single-story extension to their Cotswolds farmhouse.
Their British neighbors didn't take it lightly as they charged that the development could increase potential flooding in the area as well as disturb Roman remains.
"The onus is on the owner to report any historic remains uncovered," a note from the parish council office stated, per the Daily Mail.
It continued, "Concern was expressed by residents that the hedge and wire fence could increase flood risk in the village' if rubbish was swept down and 'caught on the fence,' thereby 'limiting flow across the field.'"
The Couple Is Looking For A New U.K. Home

The couple is now understood to be eyeing up a new U.K. home amid their seemingly uncomfortable start to British life.
"Ellen and Portia have had several issues with the place they initially moved into," a local told the Daily Mail. "First there was the flooding, of course, then there was an issue with some locals complaining about some building work carried out at the property."
"So the upshot seems to have been that they started to have a look around, and then this property came up," the source continued. "They looked at it several times. And they liked it more each time they looked."
"So it does look like it's happening. They've been seen around there several times in recent weeks and have even had interactions with neighbors," they added.
Ellen DeGeneres And Portia de Rossi Have Had The Support Of James Corden Since Their U.K. Move

As she continues settling into her new U.K. life, the renowned talk show queen has reportedly found a shoulder to lean on in fellow talk show host James Corden.
According to The Sun, DeGeneres and De Rossi have been leaning on Corden for "support" following their relocation to England.
The trio were recently seen enjoying a night out at the Chiltern Firehouse in London to celebrate de Rossi's 52nd birthday.
"James has been explaining all the quirks of U.K. life. It can be quite a minefield. The other week, they enjoyed dinner out in London," a source said, per Radar.
