Quinta Brunson won't be walking down any more red carpets with her husband, Kevin Anik, as she recently filed to end their marriage.

The "Abbott Elementary" creator and star pulled the plug on her union at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Her move to become legally single comes 3.5 years after she and her now-estranged beau tied the knot in 2021.

It is unclear when the cracks in Quinta Brunson's marriage started to appear, as she and Kevin Anik mostly stayed under the radar. Much isn't known about their relationship, and they may never spill the tea on their divorce, given their privacy preference.

According to Brunson's divorce documents, she followed Hollywood's trend regarding separations. Like most celebrity breakups, the actress cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for leaving Anik and implored the court to honor their postnuptial agreement.

Brunson explained the agreement dictated the distribution of their property, and child support wasn't an issue as they had no children, per TMZ. Despite her celebrity status, the comedian managed to keep her relationship with Anik under wraps for years.

Inside The Actress' Relationship With Kevin Anik

Anik made little to no appearance on Brunson's social media pages, nor did he appear to have a public social media profile. Although he stayed out of the spotlight, Anik made rare appearances on red-carpet events to support his then-wife.

Following her 2022 Emmy victory, The Blast shared that Brunson had flaunted the adorable congratulatory messages she received from her young cast mates. Some children from the comedy series honored her with handwritten cards with one reading: "Congratulations, Ms. Quinta B."

Another card referred to Brunson as her show's character, Janine Teagues. The child, who called themselves "Tiny Cowboy," thanked the actress for having them on the series and wished she scored more Emmy awards in the future.

The sweet notes touched Brunson's heart, who captioned the since-deleted X post: "Yeah, I Love My Job."

The comedy series won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cast for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. However, the show's multiple wins did not overshadow Jimmy Kimmel's antics.

During the 2022 Emmys, Brunson was welcomed on stage by a mini skit performed by presenters Jimmy Kimmel and Will Arnett. Kimmel protested losing the award to the actress by lying at her feet, throwing a fake tantrum.

Brunson got the joke and ignored Kimmel while giving her speech, but most fans did not let his behavior slide. "Quinta Brunson deserved better than giving her acceptance over Jimmy Kimmel's 'dead' body," someone argued. Another agreed, accusing the TV host of ruining a Black woman's big moment.

The comedian became the second Black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. For Brunson, achieving this status mattered more to her than Kimmel's antics, and she cleared the air in a statement, saying:

"I know Jimmy Kimmel, and I don't know, I feel like the bit didn't bother me that much. I don't know what the internet thinks…."

Can Quinta Brunson have a quiet divorce from Kevin Anik amid her show's growing success?
